If the rest of the league valued him the way some do he would have already been traded again to a team in much better position than we are. I wouldn't be mad if he was our starter by any means but the question is what is his ceiling. If it isn't better than what a rookie QB could offer that is why he is still an Eagle.

You complained about the QB's last year in the draft to no end and then went on to slurp Darnold even until it was obvious he was awful. There is no plan now we only made the "rebuild" process even longer. We should have drafted a tackle and a QB when we knew Cam was done three years ago instead of continuing to overinvest in the defense. Now we are a poverty franchise that no franchise QB's want to play for by choice. Desperation is all that is left get used to it.

Yeah well you also don't trade for Sam Darnold and guarantee his 19 million dollar option sight unseen but here we are.

Meh I'm over betting on other teams sloppy seconds. If this is all we've got to look forward to just draft your own guy and be done with it.

I don't have high expectations for this years class but I have accepted our mgmt will likely take a swing anyway. If Rhule fails he will be gone and we'll reset and draft one next year again. But as far as ceilings and comparisons everyone has their own opinion on what traits define an elite QB. I personally do not feel we are in position to dunk on Carr or Ryan. For the time being going from the worst QB to one that could help us compete for playoffs is a fine first step. And I absolutely hate that you guys make me defend Matt Ryan but he is not the only former MVP to choke away a Super Bowl. We did against an inferior QB who was throwing ducks all game. It sucks beyond words when it's your team on the receiving end but it does happen.

Gettis is one example of the lengthy list of wide receivers we hoped would pan out into more over the years. Some had higher talent and promise than others. We just do not know his capabilities as a WR1 until we get a QB in here who can actually threaten with the deep ball consistently and open up the offense. I don't think it's hyperbole to say Sam Darnold was one of the worst passers since 2010 only Clausen was worse. Both Moore and Anderson especially have taken their share of flack for last season and yes some of it was surely legitimate. But it's time to actually give them a real chance.

If you believe in a prospect and think he can be your guy you don't leave it to chance in a trade down. There are many QB desperate teams regardless of how down this place may be on the quarterback class.

Five months ago you were all aboard the Howell train now even a QB like Derek Carr would be a waste of our time? Just because you have bought into the mythical "next year" phenom franchise changing QB does not mean there is no discussion to be had. No good quarterbacks with a choice want to play here. In your opinion what are the odds we only need one draft pick to find our next franchise QB?

Oh and top dawg. If our former man David Gettis had been putting up the numbers Moore had with the mediocre QB's he's had to work with we both know this would've been you.

Everyone (well almost) wants DJ to take the next step and there were some disappointing moments last season. But those receivers you mention the best of them have very good or elite QB play to work with. If we get that and Moore can't get it done then criticism is justified. But for now trashing the guy without a QB when we have had nothing meaningful to show for at wide receiver in 20 years other than 89 and Moose is just looking like a case of being bitter out of boredom. Get this man a QB!

These threads are all the same takes on repeat. Next years class is better I want the Bama QB I want the Ohio State QB. Life doesn't work the way you want it get over it. We'll draft one and if doesn't work draft another.

I like what I'm seeing but there are many miles to go to attone for last year for everyone involved in the Darnold trade. I think this scene accurately sums up my feelings on what we have done so far.
