  1. Well remember it's not about how you start but how you finish. This group learned that firsthand after being up on the Cowboys in the first half. Sam's resiliency is what has impressed me most and he has shown he can quickly bounce back from mistakes so I expect he will make this happen so it's only a matter of when. I think most here have been quite fair overall to Darnold and that is why the oline has been such a point of debate people want to see him reach his potential while also acknowledging we need to make the most of opportunities.
  2. It's not the only way to determine franchise qb status but winning games late when you are down is a huge part of becoming that. The clutch gene. The last Carolina Panthers franchise quarterback had to check that box too. Both were top 3 draft picks. It comes with the territory.
  3. These fans that want to hold Sam's hand and treat him like a delicate dove are just weird. He can be better he has the tools. Saying so is not an attack on him.
  4. Only one week off knowing how things went last year with his injuries seems risky. I would be inclined to let him rest this week and return the next. It's never ideal to miss time but there are some stout opponents we will be facing in the back half of our schedule. Cardinals Bills the Bucs twice and the Saints in New Orleans. Some of those matchups may call for a heavy use of McCaffrey but it would be good to see this staff and offense win some along the way without having to run him into the ground.
  5. Playing well and doing just enough to not lose us games against inferior competition are two different things. In the weeks leading up to our loss we had issues sustaining drives because of our offensive line. Remember that second half against the Jets? The best week we had was against the Saints and that was largely due to an epic performance by our defense. We almost let the Texans come back on us because we again struggled to sustain drives and they got beat 40 to nothing by the Bills last weekend. We still haven't seen a quality game from our offensive line yet. I'm still hoping it happens.
  6. The same person who has been pounding the table about how our olinemen aren't as bad as they seem thinks Slater's quality play so far is a mirage. You cannot reason with that level of delusion.
  7. Based on what I've seen so far it appears Sam certainly has franchise quarterback capabilities in him. But whether it's him or Joe Brady they need to get together and figure out how to get this deep passing game going we have DJ Moore and Robby Anderson waiting. That's just a fact Jack.
  8. This is what happens when people who aren't used to discussing the Panthers are forced to acknowledge their existence. Hopefully we can sustain relevancy for awhile again.
  9. Speaking of quarterbacks. How did your bestie the Tedster look last Sunday?
  10. NFL fans wanting an all pro quarterback and critiquing the decisions of the team? How unheard of.
  11. One could say the very same about your takes regarding the oline being good.

    Eagles

Not a trap game but the Eagles are not the inferior opponent some are visualizing they can put up points. The biggest thing I look to see from the Panthers this week and further out is can they sustain drives and keep their foot on the gas.
  13. Is it really beating a dead horse if it is our weakest unit and could very well hinder our goal of a winning season or playoffs? You perceive fans refusing to bury their heads in the sand over our roster deficiencies as an insult and that's just very odd.
  14. The secondary is stacked. I expect this defense to bounce back from this past Sunday and go on a tear for the next several weeks.
  15. Well obviously we know they care and they want Darnold to stay healthy but fans also know we have struggled in this area for a decade having seen mistakes firsthand. So at this moment when they are saying "oh poo" of course we are going to say what else did you expect? The we couldn't fix it all at once right now response is valid but then also you have to consider the sheer resources we have put into our defense even as recently as this week while plugging in a couple of depth linemen in free agency who have bounced from team to team lately. We put ourselves in this position like it or not.
  16. Glad they aren't afraid to admit mistakes but wish it didn't have to wait until week five. If TM to the left has been an option all this time and is on the table there isn't much to think about anymore. It's time for action.
  17. He doesn't seek discussion he wants ppl to conform to his view of the team and if they don't he loses it. 66 years old going on 12.
  18. Well two trades for defense within a week while the oline is in shambles does sound like what went on in Seattle a little bit if we are being fair here.
  19. That's not what I said it's just a matter of reality. We're all seeking the same result we just don't want the oline which has been a thorn for years to hold us back from all this potential yet again. We are putting a huge amount of resources in this defense but if our quarterback can't do his job it's all for naught.
  20. I don't dislike it he should be good for us. But these two moves for corner so quickly within a week of each other only make me wonder more if we should have just taken Slater at 8.
  21. The new bosses tried the same blueprint for the oline as the old bosses and got similar results
  22. He's logs on here daily just to poop one of my posts lol. Misery loves company.
  23. Perhaps when they finally got a look at Christensen they had second thoughts. Either way our minimal effort approach in the offseason is biting us in the keister pretty badly. It's time for big investments in this oline we have sunk plenty of resources into our defense
