Since the new HC hire, this place has absolutely mellowed. The excitement level is heightened, and the toxicity has abated dramatically. If @Ivory Panther thinks it's bad now? He never would have survived that.

Dang dude. Like really. Football is a tough sport. It may not be for you.
-
I absolutely love the use of "Why fit a Coach who won't be here in 3 years" line. If Frank gets the right QB, he may be here until he retires. lol

Wow, somebody sure has playing the victim down to a science. lol It's the interwebz, not a Church Social. Grow a pair.

S2 Cognitive test points to NFL Success
Gerry Green replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ah Huddle, how you entertain me. Last month when the S2 thread came out ppl were like alrighty, just get a QB with a high score. This month? Ugh, it's just another test, don't read too much into it. Never change Huddle. You are special, you are worthy, and dang it, ppl like you. -
Richardson is intriguing. However, everything around the team seems to be aimed at winning now. Richardson is not that.
-
"Well, isn't that special."

I hear ya. Fittz even said that they aren't putting much stock into the Combine or Pro Days. Film and in person interviews are almost enough. Bringing the kid into the facilities and put him through the rigors is probably better eval anyway. In the grand scheme of things, draft wise, the Combine is just not as important as it once was. The Combine is just a glorified meeting hole. Gets everyone under one roof. Easy peasy for the wheelin an a dealin set.

You gotta give Huddlerz their due. Once they make up their minds they defend it like a momma Badger. No wishy washy flip floppin goin on up in here. I tell ya what.

Bears would have accepted Moore, Burns or Brown.
Gerry Green replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns was near the top at TFL among edge rushers. And Brown had more pressures than Aaron Donald. And we all know that pressure up the middle is the QBs worse enemy. Now those stats are from memory from an announcer during the last game of the year. But they stuck with me, because of the prevailing belief of their limitations around here. So, take it for what it's worth. Again I say, let go of the past and embrace the future. Everything is more fun this way. -

You've got to let go of that past. Fear of the past only inhibits future decisions. There's a new Sheriff in town. Which means things around here are gonna be achangin. Also, I think you need to do a quick Google search about Brown and Burns. They are both better than you give them credit for. -
Now do his entire career. Then do the QBs he has had to play with each year. And YES, the quality of your QB play has a great deal to do with how much yac your WR gets. C'mon Man.

We hear this a lot. The problem is in the context. In DJs 5 years Panther QBs have thrown a whopping 79TDs. The fact that DJ has 21 of those is way above pedestrian. Calling DJ pedestrian is lazy and outright wrong.

Yeah, fans are going to fan that's for sure. People laughing at Atl for what they would have to give up for Lamar. But that's exactly what would happen to us if we sell the farm to move up. Just doesn't sound smart to me. I do hope the powers that be get it right. But it is fun watching this process compared to the last process. lol
-
There are Young folks, and there are Stroud folks. There are folks who don't care if we trade the farm as long as we get their QB. And there are folks who just want to get it right. Same story, different versions. And all are true.

THE ATHLETIC: Potential cap casualties….
Gerry Green replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, that one threw me for a loop as well. Does he mean actual cash? Because he says Tepper is 2nd richest owner. Or is he talking signing bonus? Still a weird way to express the thought. -
Trading for Sean Payton vs Settling for Steve Wilks
Gerry Green replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Taking words out of context is always a strong strategy for a weak rebuttal. That said. Well played. -
Trading for Sean Payton vs Settling for Steve Wilks
Gerry Green replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just love how many Huddlers just KNOW that we can't win with Wilks. Give the guy the resources he needs, and let's go to war. Now, it would be nice if he could upgrade McAdoo, or at least pair him with a guy that has actual experience developing young QB. Maybe try and upgrade Holcomb as well. Just let the guy pick his own staff for once, I ain't giving NO anything. We either get Payton as a FA. Or not at all. And I personally am in the not at all group. -
Been a Lions fan for a looong time. This is the first time I can remember being excited at the end of the season. Let's hope the Panthers get as lucky with our next coach.
-
I had that thought in the back of my mind. But like most things um related. They fade from memory rather quickly. Although I will say. Timmy had his moments as a Panther. Too bad for injuries. And I am still having trouble with Hutchinson. lol DROY or not, he's still the enemy.

Go on record now before the hire is made Re: Sean Payton
