  1. Would be kind of awkward to not. I'm sure it'll be spun to look like Glenn was the real reason for the flight all along. "Couldn't wait to talk to him".
  2. "... not considered a lock..." Commence operation save face.
  3. Depends on the return you'd get. If it's anything lower than a 2nd then I'd rather gamble that JC stays healthy.
  4. If Evero was lukewarm on returning, could he be traded? I don't know if I've ever heard of a coordinator being traded, but he is under contract and there seems to be a healthy market for his services. While I'd rather keep him around and see what the defense looks like in year two with players that are a better fit for his scheme, I'd also entertain trading Evero for a 3rd.
  5. I'd call 6 wins a good first year. Hopefully the team's media arm can also set reasonable expectations when they start writing their fluff articles this Spring/Summer. They don't do themselves any favors when they put out articles and tweets talking about "competing for the division".
  6. Andy Dalton reportedly was able to improve his arm strength after coming into the league: QB guru: Dalton seeing 'big jump in his arm strength' (nfl.com)
  7. Fant is a FA. I wouldn't be surprised if the Panthers took a swing at him.
  8. The price for firing Frank in his first season. Tepper-Tax.
  9. Seems unlikely that Canales will be one-and-done for a lot of reasons. I think the only way that happens is the team somehow ends up with the #1 (or #2) pick in the draft and they can reset (again) with a QB and Coach at the same time.
  10. Enjoy paying Baker $30M+ a season to once again learn a new offense.
  11. What if they are also waiting to see if they get to keep Ejiro? If Ejiro were to get the ATL or SEA job that would change the calculus on hiring someone like Canales.
  12. The move could be to force Arthur Blank actually make a decision instead of dragging his feet.
  13. It means somebody with options will actually pick up the phone when the Panthers call.
  14. Can anyone explain to me why Canales isn't part of the Seahawks coaching search? They should have pretty intimate knowledge of him. Them not bringing him in for at least a Zoom call is a bit of a red flag for me.
  15. GM: - #Raiders: Tom Telesco - #Commanders: Adam Peters - #Panthers: Dan Morgan - #Chargers: Whoever Harbaugh wants - #Patriots: ??? HC: - #Raiders: Antonio Pierce - #Patriots: Jerod Mayo - #Titans: Brian Callahan - #Seahawks: Dan Quinn ? - #Commanders: B. Johnson ? - #Chargers: Harbaugh ? - #Falcons: Belichick ? - #Panthers: ??? Despite the larger than average number of openings, it seems the Panthers lucked out and are swimming in a different pool of candidates than most of the other teams ... Or that could be by design.
  16. The average NFL coach only lasts 3 seasons. Are you suggesting that defensive-minded head coaches last longer than an offensive-minded one?
  17. Good for them I guess. I know folks around here were lukewarm on him.
  18. I read yesterday that there is rumor of a Kelly + Dodds front office combo.
  19. Option 3 all day for me. The team needs to stop pouring resources into QB every season. Try being patient for once. Bryce will improve, take advantage of that rookie contract, and use those resources on the rest of the team for a change.
  20. I had no idea Canales counted towards the RR. I was wondering what the plan was after they didn't interview Brian Johnson.
  21. I don't think they've satisfied the Rooney Rule. So he should be able to take another interview while the Titans work on that.
