  1. I'm gonna need a bigger sample size. Felt like coaching, WRs, and QB could have all done way better in the passing game. Hard to know who was the more significant detriment. During the game, it felt like a fairly split combo. We did have one very pretty drive that showed well...then ended with a crappy 3rd and 4th down call. We desperately need speed on offense and need to get Bryce doing stuff like Tua's managing in MIA.
  2. The 2020 draft did the position no favors...Okudah, Henderson, Arnette
  3. For being the 1ST overall defensive player taken in the 2021 draft, it's looking like a pretty mighty swing and a miss. Season 3 and it's already shaping up to be another incomplete one. Hammies linger. 3 of his 4 rookie contract years...not encouraging. There's looking to be no 5th yr option opted at this point. I won't lie and say I wanted Surtain or Parsons (Devonta Smith truther), but it's looking icky for Jaycee.
  4. The rhythm we found on the 4 and 1 miss-drive was pretty. Bryce was really good on his feet and found a groove for a minute and it felt operational. That was a glimpse at a smooth operating offense. There could be something there, but you're right that it tailed off. Nothing super concerning but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in the passing game. The Falcons were a super beatable, one-dimensional team today. A lot is on coaching and WRs as well. Our OL was fine and the running game was working. Should have been able to dice them up, even with an average/meh WR group. I'm just surprised how much we stalled in the 2nd half. I just expected more, not going to pretend I'm not underwhelmed. Overall, I'd say there's a healthy ground of being disappointed but not overreacting that I'm firmly in. Hope we look a lot better in the air next week. No alarm bells, but waiving a minor "concerned" flag.
  5. Will have to start paying attention to dudes like Rome Odunze this year. Basically, the tier after Harrison Jr.
  6. nice post, keeping it less reactionary..but... I don't think it's out of bounds to say Bryce's accuracy was pretty off today and it just wasn't the best performance. We can say that without crying out he's a bust or anything like that. He had a few good moments but I actually thought he seemed a tad anxious back there and was throwing behind, sailed a few as well. Had one very nice drive that showed promise. The entire passing game is what I found disappointing. Play design, play calls, and Young. It's unfortunate, particularly because this is what we've been used to and wanted to be rid of, and were promised to be rid of. Onto next week. Better look a whole lot more competent. I'll give Bryce time, but the playbook didn't look pretty off the bat.
  7. One game today. Important weeks ahead to see how they respond. I say important because they need to prove they can create an adequate passing game. You can't look away--today, was not a good look to show out of the gate. Especially considering how one-dimensional of a team we played, the OL played well, running game was fine (minus one fumble), and the defense came to play. Overall, disappointed to see this out of the passing game. I thought we'd have significant improvement from what we've grown used to. Not a good start, can't lie. Mix of play design, poor route running, and Bryce's accuracy really did us in. Didn't think I'd say the latter. I'd like to see more of the influence Brown is bringing through the McVay/Shan/McD offenses. Where are the sweeps, slants, shallow crosses? These sideline floaters on triangle sets/curl routes are infuriating. Saw that in preseason but didn't think we'd see THAT much in the regular.
  8. Trying hard not to overreact today...but we had consistent protection, a running game, and a defense that came to play. Just really unimpressed with Frank's playcalling (not entirely unexpected) and surprised with what I've seen out of Bryce. Doesn't mean he can't turn around and ball out next week though. He had one rather impressive drive but the plays just weren't well tailored for him other than that early drive and something just didn't click today.
  9. Defense looked find today for the most part. Offense gave them short fields. Can't say I'm impressed with much on the offense side aside the OL and Hubbard (sometimes).
  10. Just ugly. We're lucky we're still in this honestly. Meh
  11. Evero's got the defense playing angry but poised. Offense needs to get some consistent drives, has looked very nice at times. Not bad. Some bad but nothing warranting any big reactions.
  12. That type of consistent push forward for the OL and combo run/pass with motions was great. TE, Mingo, TMJ, both RBs, all part of the drive. Kept Bryce moving a bit, just great rhythm.
  13. Started shaky but looked like a #1 pick that drive. Poise and awareness was as crisp as hell.
  14. I don't think that was a catch but not conclusive. And then ATL punts...
  15. yep, got turned around. No coffee this morning haha
  16. Defense is keeping us in this. The offense just seems a bit jittery right now. Second drive had some rhythm until the redzone and then we've suddenly got shaky.
  17. Burns 1.5 sacks, 1 tfl. Keep playing angry my man
  18. Chubba shaking and hesitating on 4th won't get you anywhere. Bad call, bad running.
  19. I'd like to think we will treat at least 1 trade or FA signing this next year as a 1st-round level acquisition to compensate for not having a first in the draft. Ideally, I'd like to see that either as a 3 down DL or playmaker WR. We could win this year but it's easy to see that this offense needs playmakers badly. Higgins would be a very solid target. You're probably looking at the likes of Mike Evans, Gabe Davis, and his teammate Boyd come 2024. Higgins is the youngest (24) and would be an ideal target to grow in an offense with Bryce. He seems to get knicked up a lot, but doesn't tend to miss a tone of time.
  20. KC <--> Mike Evans Could see that one happening with the tank on in TB
