Trevor definitely does deserve credit. He didn't achieve those numbers by mistake he put in a lot of effort and I'm sure he studied film. But it just goes to show that even generational can't miss prospects like Lawrence need some sort of help in the NFL and can't get by on just talent and name alone. That sentiment echoes even louder for Bryce Young because he has even more to overcome
-
The only reason I bring up Lawrence is because its a lot similar of a comparison than Joe Burrow (curious why he chose to use Burrow as his example as well). Lawrence had Chark and Shenault as WRs that year (chark only played 4 games, laviska all 16) Lawrence threw 12 TDs to 17 INTs has a YPA of 6.0 and a QBR of 71.9. Young has a 5.4 YPA and a 74.9 QBR. Both had dysfunctional coaches for very different reasons but both were fired during the season. Reich after 11 games, Meyer after 13. With a new outlook and solid HC hire in Doug Pederson Lawrence was able to have a very good year 2 under Pederson and Co. Why is it such an asinine thought on this board that our rookie QB could be better with a better staff that actually knows what the fug is going on and isn't living on a name that they made for themselves 5-10+ years ago? The Jags retooled their offense and brought in legit talent surrounding their young QB with young playmakers and he improved. However, I'm sure the coaching changes and personnel had very very little to do with Trevor Lawrence's big turn around in year 2 and the only reason he improved was because he's 6'6 220 pounds with a laser rocket arm. /sarcasm /huddlelogic2023

And Trevor Lawrence's rookie year?
-
Just best to ignore whatever that guy says. If he's not Carolina-chuck then he's a close relative or at the very least, his next door neighbor
-
Absolutely well said.

Exactly I'm so done with coaches that are stoic and look they have no fire in them after a s*** call. We need someone with some passion left for the game. Not these old worn out dinosaurs. Need someone to light a fire under someone's a**. I thought Duce Staley would be that for Reich but that was a flop. Rivera seemed pretty passionate behind closed doors but his sideline demeanor was always that of someone who didn't know what the fug was going on in the actual game. Rhule was meh and Reich was more of the same. We desperately need a changing of the guard and with Tepper I'm not sure that's going to happen but we'll see. He at least made the right decision to fire Reich 11 games in even though it would reflect poorly it showed he's somewhat willing to swallow his pride to do whatever it takes. He just hasn't made the right decisions unfortunately.

Whats even more entertaining is you closet Texans fans thinking drafting Stroud #1 overall would have made any difference with where we're at right now. We'd still have the worst collection of talent on the offensive side of the ball in the entire NFL with a rookie QB and a clueless HC. But please, go on, continue to think Stroud would be the only reason Frank Reich would still be employed by the Panthers. Anymore jokes you got for us today?

Players react to firing. They don’t seem too upset
Mr Mojo Risin replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
And by no means are any of those "dudes" responsible for the 185 yards a game and the reason we can't score more than 1 touchdown, its ALL on the QB right? Coaching doesn't matter, scheme doesn't matter, personnel doesn't matter, getting open doesn't matter, blocking for more than half a second doesn't matter, being able to run the ball effectively doesn't matter, literally NONE of that matters only that the QB is effective no matter what else is going on around him. Got it, Thanks for clearing all of that up -

Part of the reason Thielen said he signed with us was because they had some sort of golfing simulator in the locker room lol -
Cam had the benefit of playing in a system that utilized his talents with the Chudz offense. He then spent the rest of his career overcoming Shula ball but yea. It's been clear since the preseason Reichs offensive vision didn't take advantage of what Young excelled at in college. Will be interesting to see who we choose next. I'm hoping it's Harbaugh personally but thats probably a long shot
-
Dalton would be on IR if he took even half of the shots Young has taken. Talk poo about the dudes size all you want but he is as tough as they come
-
It was definitely apart of it. Trevor Lawrence was more hyped than Bryce coming out of college and had a not so great rookie year
-
Exactly. Who knows which decisions were actually Fitt and not Tepper pulling the strings telling him what to do or say
-
You have to surround your QB with good players though. EVERY team does it but the Carolina Panthers. What QB has a worse collection of talent than Bryce Young in the NFL? There are college teams that have better talent than we do currently.

Frank Reich Fired as Panthers HC - Official
Mr Mojo Risin replied to NJPanthers12's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly this is the best thing for Bryce if he's going to succeed in the NFL at all. Gotta find someone that can fix this offense -
You know what also isn't enough to win in the NFL? Having the worst collection of Oline, WRs, TEs, and RBs in the entire NFL. Bottom. Tier. Every position group. Not only is it impossible to win with but also impossible to play like a top 15 QB with that mess. Throw in the playcalling and you could have drafted Jesus Christ himself #1 overall and he'd look like a bust in this offense
-
He's been Byron Bell level bad in pass pro this year. I thought he'd shake it off after the rough preseason but man...he has been beaten like a drum consistently all season long
-
Quality post. Few and far between on this board these days
-
First it was Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks...two perennial first team all pro guards. But no one here wants to hear or admit that. They'd rather be miserable and call Bryce a bust even after acknowledging the dearth of talent we have on offense and the disconnect amongst our coaching staff. They will be the first to point at all we gave up for Bryce and quickly forget that if you want a young QB to be successful he needs solid play and talent from the people around him. We got rid of DJ Moore and CMC. Two excellent pieces to surround a young "undersized" QB with. What did we replace them with again? Lol. We changed blocking schemes from what was working to forcing our guys to play out of position. Our WRs can't get any separation off the LoS. Miles Sanders is trash. It's a complete and total disaster on offense. But hey let's blame the rookie QB that we traded all of our offensive talent to get for not having stats like CJ Stroud every Sunday. Some real brilliant football minds on this board.

Probably because they sit all their starting pass rushers and he actually has time to throw. What a weird coincidence that is isn't it? -
