Does anyone have any faith we beat the Giants?
LinvilleGorge replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shocker. Lose the face of your franchise and become a perennial bottom feeder and folks find something better to do with their Sunday afternoons. -
Cam Newton not on Panthers radar (as if that needed to be said)
LinvilleGorge replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's hard though. Like you've been banging a dime piece for years, break up thinking you can do even better and you've been stuck with bridge troll after bridge troll at last call ever since. -
This loss is on the receivers, not Sam.
LinvilleGorge replied to onmyown's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think that's at all clear. If anything, it may be getting clearer that he's not the future. I know this staff is adverse to rookie QBs but they might find themselves in survival mode this off-season. Drafting a first round rookie QB might be their best survival strategy. Sam's fifth year option is already picked up, so let him play wet nurse next year and you've essentially bought yourself two more years barring disaster. -

We should. They're truly terrible. But that definitely doesn't mean that we will. -
Meanwhile, Andy Reid has been a high level NFL coach for years while empty Gatorade cups have orbited his fat ass on the sidelines.

Sad, but true. We have a coaching staff that has proven little at the NFL level. A QB who has proven virtually nothing at the NFL level. A shoddy, patchwork OL. A talented, but pretty inexperienced D. Looks like the writing is on the wall. Barring a miraculous turnaround, we're in for another year of talking draft by mid-season.

Maybe you should break it down for us why the Appaloosa Model has been producing such shitty ass results in the NFL thusfar because this "Appaloosa" looks more like a three legged blind donkey.

Keep in mind, it was reported that Tepper was part of a minority faction in Pittsburgh that wanted Mike Tomlin fired. A coach who has won a SB and literally never had a losing record. I think Tepper bought into Rhule's and program and culture building philosophy, but I don't know how much patience he's going to have if we don't start seeing better results on the field.

This has to be said: Cam Newton is vaccinated and available

Go back and look at the posts of mine you've quoted. You're trying to drag me into discussions with other people. My scope of posting that you're quoting is very specific and I just don't think you're grasping that while trying to argue with multiple people at once. -

We're specifically talking about one OL. I don't know why y'all are having such difficulty understanding that. No, Cam is a shadow of himself. Not sure why you want to throw shade in retrospect though. How many winning seasons do Rivera and Gettleman, etc. have without Cam as their QB? He floated our trash organization for years. Now here we are. -

We're specifically talking about the OL featuring Chandler and Bell at OT. Norwell and Turner were there but they were rookies and Norwell didn't get on the field until well into the year when (I think it was Silatolu) got hurt. That OL was BAD. Yes, worse than this one. -

LOL! Not even close. -

People have truly forgotten how atrocious that OL was. -

Hey, sucky QBs are what we crave. They're the Brawndo for our plants. -

Based on comments Tepper made immediately upon buying the team, I think he was always intent on moving on from Cam. -
Find a franchise QB

is darnold worse than teddy was?
LinvilleGorge replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Some are inevitable. You're gonna get hit while throwing sometimes. Balls are gonna get tipped and picked. Sometimes defenders are gonna make some unreal plays. But damn... most of Darnold's it looks like he's literally targeting the defender. -

Here's what I know for sure - if Darnold or Teddy are your QB, you need a QB. Sad, but true. -

Darnold was way worse than that last week. -
I can understand drunken idiot teenagers fighting over football but a lot of those folks looked like they were 50 and suffering from hypertension and on statins for their cholesterol levels. Not exactly the crew I'd expect to see duking it out over a football game.

It was all risk no reward. DJ was gonna get smashed five yards short of the sticks. The throw had no chance of converting a first down and a good chance of getting our #1 WR hurt. Can't make that throw.

The Giants really suck. If we lose this one, we're definitely in full blown draft discussions before Halloween which - let's be honest - has been the case more often than not for us Panthers fans.

Teddy was more consistent. Darnold's best is better than Teddy but his worst is far worse. If we could have Teddy between the 20s and Darnold in the redzone that would be interesting. -
Agreed. I really hope it works out just because of the risk we took. It would be less risky if we weren't already short a 2nd due to the Darnold trade.
