  1. Definitely baffling. I have no idea why you're paying a safety big money in today's NFL when he's a liability in coverage. The era of the undersized LB at safety is over. The only way it works is if you run a cover three scheme and you have a Earl Thomas or Ed Reed caliber player at FS. And even then I think you're best served to try to use that in the box SS as a position to save cap space. You're not trying to pay that guy. You just want a "check the box" player there because that type of player isn't highly sought after (or at least shouldn't be) in today's NFL.
  2. I wouldn't hate the pick. I'm honestly not sure why he hasn't been talked about as a potential guy to go higher. People are talking about him being a one year wonder but he had 8.5 sacks two years ago as a sophomore. The two sack junior season is definitely eyebrow raising and I'm sure teams will be watching the hell out of that film to figure out why he had that massive dip.
  3. If we don't have two in Tershawn Wharton and Tre'Von Moehrig then we made two big ass mistakes in free agency. If those signings pan out we should have at least four core players on D in Brown, Horn, Wharton, and Moehrig. I would consider Jackson at CB as a "potential". Same with Trevin Wallace at LB.
  4. There's no way I'm trading up in this draft with all of our roster needs, period. We don't need one star. We just need a talent infusion across the board.
  5. Yeah. I get pointing out that we're light on core talent on D but those folks too often overlook that if you're approaching our receivers and TEs it's the same story. Chuba Hubbard is our star offensive skill positions weapon. Oh wee mayne.
  6. Plenty of top tier NFL pass rushers weren't considered generational talents. Micah Parsons was a tweener drafted outside the top 10. Nik Bonitto was a 2nd rounder. Trey Hendrickson and Jonathan Greenard were 3rd rounders. Maxx Crosby was a 4th rounder. I'm not really pounding the table or sounding the alarm (outside of Shemar "looks like Tarzan plays like Jane" Stewart) for anyone this year I just hope we end up with a really good player at #8.
  7. Who are the core players at the offensive skill positions?
  8. I was talking about Shemar Stewart in that post. He ain't never put poo together. He's never had more than 1.5 sacks and 31 tackles in a season.
  9. Did you quote the wrong post? LOL
  10. There's no questioning his athletic traits. There's nothing but questions about his actual football abilities though. His film is littered with plays where he gets around or through the blocker immediately just to run around (very fast) aimlessly all the whole having a clear path to the ball. His film screams "amazing athlete who just isn't a football player".
  11. The iconic photo of how Cooper "Better Than Melo" Flagg's college career will ultimately be remembered. The caption will read, "He came up short."
  12. Just remember, after the draft we have a couple of weeks to bicker about the picks we did and didn't make any then basically nothing for months. Well, hopefully nothing. Pretty much any football related news between May and July is gonna be bad news.
  13. I'd rather take this guy than some workout warrior who never had 2+ sacks in an entire season let alone a game.
  14. Saw duke lost. Maybe all that effort to act like Flagg was better than Melo was a tad premature.
  15. I like Carter a lot but after this years draft we will have dug ourselves out of the Bryce trade draft capital hole. Let's not celebrate that by picking up the shovel and starting to dig again.
  16. No. You probably talking about trading #8, #57, and next year's 1st. Fug all of that. Fug that hard.
  17. People who didn't watch him look pretty pedestrian against a top shelf D in PSU then went back and looked to see that most of his gaudy stats were piled up against mediocre at best competition.
  18. I can't for the life of me figure out what people are seeing in Stewart on tape. If he can't just simply run around or through the OL in front of him, he's cooked. I don't see any actual moves. If he doesn't win on sheet athleticism at the point of contact he's nullified. I don't know if I've ever seen him actually beat a block once engaged. Then, even if he just blasts right past or through the OL and has a clean path to the ball it's like he's blind. He can't find the ball. He's like a bottle rocket. Yeah, he takes off fast but he's just going to go fast in a general direction. There will be no course correction. I watched quite a bit on him just because of his perceived draft evaluation and because of the wild discrepancy between measurables and production. Watch him play and it all makes since. He's a god tier physical specimen who just happens to be playing football. I don't see a football player. People need to stop falling in love with the potential and start realizing why the potential isn't translating.
  19. No one should be the least bit surprised by this organization doing powerfully stupid stuff. You don't accidentally achieve the worst record in the NFL since 2018, it takes consistently awful decisions to pull that off. And then the cherry on top of the dog poo sundae is that every year when we're closing in on a top 5 pick, here comes a couple of meaningless moral victories to fug that up. I'd be curious what percentage of our wins in the Tepper era have come when we're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Feels like most of them with most of the rest coming when we might not be mathematically eliminated yet but we might as well be because we're basically going to have to run the table while other contenders absolutely faceplant which is basically the same thing as being eliminated. LOL
  20. The NFL needs to stop overdrafting these types and let them do what they should do - play another year of college ball.
  21. I don't know that anyone hates Hunter at #8 I just don't think anyone expects him to be available at #8.
  22. Yeah, I was thinking he's the type of guy who would be an end in odd fronts and move inside in even fronts like Aaron Donald. Not saying he's Aaron Donald, just saying a similar usage in terms of alignment.
  23. It is? We gave up 4000+ yards and 35 TDs in the air. LOL
  24. I don't want Shemar Stewart because his measurables scream potential #1 overall draft pick while his production screams UDFA. He's honestly a guy who should be mid-late round boom/bust pure athletic potential type of pick, not a potential top 10 pick. I'd like Jalen Walker because I just think he's a football player. Turn on a UGA game and see which guy just jumps off the screen on defense. It's him. Would not be mad about T-Mac or Warren.
