There seems to be a massive gulf between reality and Robby's perception of his own value to an NFL team. Given his cap hit, Robby Anderson is a net negative. I get it, there's a long history of NFL WRs being divas, but most of those divas are HOF candidate caliber. Robby is on his way to becoming Freddie Mitchell. I'm just waiting for him to thank his hands for being so great.

I'd be okay with moving Robby for whatever we could get. There are players in the NFL who have the clout to put pressure on their team to make certain moves. Robby Anderson isn't even close to being one.

Honestly, I don't think TS is wrong. Penning is extremely raw and needs a lot of work. Do we really trust this staff to develop raw talent? Like Willis, there's a lot to like but they need to land in the right spot and situation. We are neither.

If we draft Pickett #6 overall, Rhule (and possibly Fitterer) get fired and the new brain trust is scouting QBs again in next year's draft with a top 10 (honestly likely top 5) draft pick in their back pocket and trying to figure out what we can manage to salvage in trade return for Pickett. Do you really want a more athletic version of Kyler Trask? In the top 10? He's the type of QB prospect we should be looking at with our 2nd round pick if we still actually had it.

Both sides want a good QB. I really don't care which variety we have but the NFL really seems to be evolving toward pocket passers with mobility.

Same thing in Buffalo. Jim Kelly was already on the roster. He drafted a prototypical 6'5" cannon armed pocket statue with a room temperature IQ here in Carolina in Kerry Collins and the results were predictably middling.

Here's a news flash for everyone trying to crown Bill Polian... he was low key a terrible drafter.

And somehow everyone is whiffing on this on the Howell evaluation.

Swap the QBs in that game and Pitt wins by 3 TDs.

Caleb Love is the last big question. If he comes back this will have some serious 2017 vibes. We'll definitely miss Manek but our depth should be leaps and bounds better next year. I think Puff Johnson is ready to step into that role.

Ideally we trade down. I fully expect it.

Kenny had the best college stats this year of the bunch. I wouldn't read anything more into it than that.

Pickett won't be able to throw outside the numbers in the NFL unless a receiver is wide open. Defenses are going to FEAST on that.

Pickett runs out of college eligibility prior to last season normally. He would've been a late round pick or UDFA. He's a beneficiary of an extra year due to COVID. How good are Corral and Howell with five years of college experience? Gotta see Pickett for what he is - a guy playing in college who was as old as most second year NFL QBs.

Go watch Howell and Corral.

Darnold is a panicker. When things don't go perfectly to plan he panics. He sticks with his first read until he comes open or something makes him panic. His good plays come when his first read is open or immediate pressure forces him to go to his hot read or check down. Those are the only two scenarios where he succeeds.

I'm not convinced the folks who race about Pickett's ability to read the field have watched him play outside of YouTube highlights.

Trask was a better college QB he was just physically limited. Pickett's arm isn't any better. He's a better athlete but it doesn't really show up on game day. He's a prototype 2nd rounder. Darnold played behind a good OL at USC where he was also plagued by turnover issues. Darnold just isn't a QB. He's a talented thrower of the football but he's not a QB.

I'm not certain he SHOULD go in the 1st but I'll be shocked if he doesn't. Pickett shouldn't. He's a more athletic Kyle Trask.
