The Panthers have first round grades on 3 QBs.
LinvilleGorge replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the same brain rot that has convinced everyone this QB class is terrible has also convinced everyone that this OT class is particularly exceptional. Neal has all the measurables you could ever want but isn't considered the slam dunk #1 OT available for a reason. Ekwonu is a terrific run blocker but his ability to take on NFL speed rushers off the edge is a question. There are questions about Cross's physicality at the NFL level. Honestly, I think both these OT and QB classes are fairly typical. Some good prospects but no slam dunks among them. -
That would be wild. A perceived down ACC having the most dominant NCAA tourney a conference has ever had.

He's a beast. Perfect old school 3-4 NT.

So basically a typical Marty Hurney draft without the slam dunk 1st rounder Hurney usually go you. Oh wee mayne.

These types of posts always confuse me. That's what this place is for, to talk about football. If encountering differing opinions on football is so triggering for you, why bother with being here? -
I honestly try to tune it out. If I didn't I couldn't be an NFL fan. There's nothing enjoyable about watching billionaires fleece tax payers out of millions.

He's just ahead of the curve. If you're not an alcoholic before trying to play QB here, you will be soon. -

The NFL does this sometimes. They convince themselves of a narrative - good or bad - and just can't overcome it. The DJ Moore/Calvin Ridley WR class comes to mind. Oh, it's such a bad WR class. No elite prospects. Blah, blah, blah. I'm sitting here like WTF are y'all talking about? There's two elite WR prospects on this class y'all just have your blinders on and can't see it. That's this QB class IMO. Howell is a top 10 QB. Willis is a top 10 QB based on sheer raw talent. Corral and Pickett are typical mid to late 1st round type QBs. The only thing this QB class is missing is that slam dunk "once in a decade" type prospect and people are just all fuged up because of that. It's weird to watch. -

The Steelers are gonna sit right there and draft Sam Howell and in three years everyone is going to be looking back and realizing how badly the rest of the league botched this QB draft class while the Huddle is still breaking down upcoming QB prospects because we're still flailing in the wind. -

That's what's fuging everyone up about this QB class. There is no Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck or Trevor Lawrence prospect. Hell, there's no Cam Newton either. There's no slam dunk prospect. There's no physical freak that makes you willing to roll the dice. There are just some typical good but flawed on paper prospects that you have to sort through. -

I wouldn't hate picking Corral. IMO, he's the best non-Howell QB in this class. -
I wouldn't expect any more significant moves. We might see some bottom of the roster churn but that's about all of anticipate.

I don't think it's an intelligence issue, I just don't think his mind is wired right. Football is about reaction. If you're actively thinking after the snap you're too slow. It's about just being able to flow on instinct without consciously thinking. I don't think he can do it. That's why he panics. He's trying to think and then when he realizes it's falling apart around him and he can't consciously keep up he just panics. It don't think that necessarily means that he's dumb.

After this season this guy is going to have made $30M for being terrible at playing football. Of all the people in the world to feel bad for, Sam Darnold should be way down the list.
-
As soon as you consent you've waived your rights. Simple as that. Not giving consent gives a lawyer a fighting chance.
-
This clown is still talking about Darnold's "talent" saying he'sore talented than anyone in the 2022 class. Sorry, he's going into his 5th NFL season and he's still trash. The "talent" is no longer relevant. He's just not a good NFL QB. At some point Orlovsky has to stop tripling and quadrupling down on being wrong about Sam Darnold. NFL teams should follow suit.
-
It's wild how many people can be ignorant to their rights. It honestly wouldn't be shocking if the cop simply asked to "look around" the vehicle and he consented not realizing he has the right to say no. Happens all the time.

We had the #21 defense last year. Then we lost our sack leader and our top proven CB. We've added some mid to low tier FAs. The result is going to be a top 5 D? -

The Darnold Effect. If Sam Darnold is currently penciled in as your starting QB, everyone is rightly going to assume that you're going to suck. -
The Panthers' plan at QB:

Agreed on Favre but disagree on Smith. Mahomes has talked numerous times about how much Alex Smith helped him out transitioning to the NFL and becoming a pro.
