I'm simply talking about the overall expenditure of resources on offense vs. defense which is the subject of the thread. We have a LOT more resources both in terms of cap space and in draft capital spent on offense vs. defense.

Yeah, you can clearly build a good NFL defense with either scheme as the foundation. I personally prefer the 4-3 simply because I'm much more familiar with 4-3 concepts. Both schemes offer advantages and disadvantages. I feel like the main reason the 3-4 became prevalent is that 3-4 OLBs are easier to find than 4-3 DEs. Finding an elite 4-3 DE with the size to put his hand in the dirt every down and the bend to get around the edge is tough. It's easier to find a smaller guy who can stand up and covert speed to power. But then the 3-4 forces you to find an absolute unicorn in the form of the 3-4 NT who can hold up to constant double teams. Without a stud at NT you're really fighting an uphill battle.

I think Igo put a minimum post count on the TB to avoid trolls. Not sure what it is though.

To be fair, we are playing complimentary football. Both sides are trash and carrying us straight to the bottom.

Are you kidding me? Two huge money OGs, the highest paid OT in football, a top 10 pick at LT, a top 10 pick at WR, another 1st round WR, a highly paid RB, an offensive minded head coach. We've done everything we could to put Bryce in a position to succeed and that has left us strapped for resources on defense. I think that's the point of this thread and it's honestly probably a fair point. And I should add that I'm not complaining about spending all those resources trying to surround Bryce with talent on offense. When you make the move we did to get Bryce you're all in. It would be dumb NOT to do everything you can at that point to make sure your investment pans out, unfortunately we dumped all our money into a meme coin that went belly up.

The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old

The thread was locked because it's Tinderbox material and a link was provided to the thread in the TB.

GB's defense looks GOOD. Everybody was ready to just assume the Lions were going to have a down year but I think GB's D might just be that good.
-
Does Washington realize that the TE is eligible to catch passes? Because they ain't covered one all night.
-
Meanwhile, the only player over the age of 30 on GB's roster is the kicker.

Jayden Daniels looks crackhead skinny.

Misses from 59, 52, and 48. Not exactly chip shots and the two shorter misses both hit the uprights so barely missed.

I've seen several in the last couple of weeks. Had a close call this evening walking the dogs. My Rottie was at my side and my pittie was up ahead and about that time I see a stick laying across the driveway maybe 20 feet ahead. We get a little closer and that's no stick. That's a BIG copperhead laying across the driveway on the bridge. I grab my Rottie and now I have him in my right hand and the pittie is on the other side of the snake. She had to have stepped right over it. Neither dog had noticed the snake at this point and I'm trying to he chill and keep it that way. I switch my Rottie to my left hand and tell my little to sit and stay. Now I'm skipping past this copperhead between it and my Rottie and grab my pittie with my right hand. poo, this isn't gonna work. Now we gotta get past this copperhead again. It's about three feet long laying stretched out across the driveway on a 10' wide bridge. We have maybe four feet to play with so here I am with a 120# Rottie in one hand and an 80# pit bull in the other trying both trying to figure out how we're getting past this copperhead and trying to do it fast before they notice it and do something stupid. Finally decide on sending the Rottie who is my right hand scooting up the driveway ahead of us since I'm between him and the snake. We get up to the snake and I guide him ahead and tell him go,go,go, go and he happily goes trotting up the driveway giving me time to swap the pittie to my right hand so I'm between her and the snake and we scurry past. The copperhead never moved and never offered any sign of either aggression nor fear. It was just chilling.

I'm not. I think the Packers may have become legit contenders with that Parsons trade and I wouldn't be surprised if Daniels and Washington have a bit of a coming back down to Earth after taking the league by surprise last year.

The Bryce stans are getting really desperate.

Just let him be him. I think folks have forgotten how utterly dominant Cam was. Auburn was unranked at the beginning of the season. They had minimal NFL talent on that roster. Cam still won a Heisman and carried them to an SEC championship and national championship. Sellers isn't that. Not at this stage. Cam had what has to be considered one of the greatest college seasons ever.

Why is everyone focused on BY while the real problem is ignored
LinvilleGorge replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
The real problem is David Tepper. Bryce Young is just one of his many mistakes. -

He's probably not. But Patterson wasn't either and he's still in the league as basically an offensive utility player relying primarily on athleticism and playmaking ability despite not really fitting in at any real position. -

If Coker picks up where he left off last year he needs to quickly replace XL in the starting lineup. We might have need to use XL like the Vikings used Cordarelle Patterson. We may have drafted a great athlete who just isn't a WR. Okay, whatever. Don't cry about it. Just try to figure out how to best utilize him and understand that yeah, he's never gonna live up to 1st round billing. Again, whatever. Something is better than nothing. Try to figure it out. -

I have no idea what's going on there if they're trying to curry favor with Tepper to try to get on his payroll too but it's odd and it might be tanking their credibility. Everyone else is watching these games too. You can't "muh system" your way through this poo -

XL sucks but PFF seems like they're on mission to defend Bryce. -
Yeah, Bryce is fine. He's a young man in good health with millions of dollars in the bank. He's in a far better situation than 99.999% of people. Ooohhhhhhh... you meant on the field? As a starting QB? He's fine THERE?

Solid Breakdown of Bryce's Poor Performance/PFF Stuff
LinvilleGorge replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
Watching almost any other NFL QB is painful for Panthers fans. Even if he sucks or is having a bad game you're gonna see flashes of talent that makes you think there might be something to work with there. There's UDFAs forced into action by rashes of injuries that show a higher talent level than Bryce.
