It's not about this year. It's about trying to build a better roster moving forward. I was hoping he'd end up in Washington honestly. He fits them to a tee. Damn Arizona.
-
He's a JAG who can really catch the ball and run after the catch. That fits what we're trying to do on offense better than anyone we currently have.
-
I can't see him coming here. No way he'd be interested in being micromanaged by Tepper. But those two egos colliding would be must watch TV.
-
Honestly he's probably better than anyone we currently have on the roster. Roughly equal to Chuba as a runner and a lot better as a receiver.
-
I knew Washington would be putting in a claim. IMO that was basically a foregone conclusion. Former Howell college teammate who fits their offense better than anyone currently on their roster. Hate it didn't work out for them.

The boss at practice today with eyes on the OL

You can call it "rich guy hate" if you want but all NFL owners are absurdly wealthy. It's about having the worst record in the NFL and appearing completely clueless. -
Maybe Steve Smith actually did draft Mingo

He acts like a guy getting paid by Carolina. It always felt to me like he got caught up in Bryce getting constantly criticized for his size and he took that personally. When I watched Bryce on college I saw a great college QB with very marginal NFL physical talent. I really didn't want him but ultimately let the weight of everyone else's opinions make me okay with him assuming that I'm probably wrong if all these other people don't have concerns about what looks very obvious to me I still thought the pick should've come down to Richardson vs. Stroud. -

Smitty generally has pretty good takes on WR prospects. Everyone gets it wrong on occasion. But he really has just seemed like a Panthers mouthpiece since Tepper took over. Those are probably some really nice under the table PR checks he's cashing. -
I've said it before. We've been stuck in a repeating cycle since Tepper took ownership. He proudly announces a bold move that per himself was either his idea or an idea that he was heavily involved in. A poo show ensues. He disappears into the background to avoid the public embarrassment. He emerges to proudly announce a bold move that was either his idea or an idea that he was heavily involved in. A poo show ensues. He disappears into the background to avoid the public embarrassment. We're in the "disappears into the background to avoid the public embarrassment" phase of the cycle currently but it won't be long before we have another proud announcement.

Zero signs to point to that. I mean, she's literally getting on the phone during the draft to make trade deals. -

Plenty of folks myself included said Bryce looked the best he had all year in that game. But then we played some more games. -

If you're winning you can do whatever you want. But when you're 1-8 with the worst record in the NFL since you took over ownership maybe you shouldn't have your wife out there scouting the OL and chopping it up with your front office personnel. I mean just for optics' sake. It's a bad look for an awful organization. Or do and give everyone more fodder for jokes. Either way... -
Prevent zone is all about preventing deep completions yet it was by far our most effective game throwing the ball downfield.
-
He looked a ton better throwing the ball downfield.
-
Some guy autocorrect sim'd in Madden I guess.
-
Don't get it twisted. I'm not arguing that Dalton is good. Hell, I think the opposite.
-
Why did we have 6 20+ yard attempts with Damson in one game and I think only 14 in all of Bryce's games combined? Same receivers. Same offense. Yet a viable vertical element.
-
Dalton is 3/6 this season throwing 20+. I'd have to go back and look again to be sure, but I think Bryce is 5/14. One guy played one game. The other guy has played 8. Oh wee mayne. That's the main thing I'm taking about here. Our offense has only had a legit downfield threat in one game and it wasn't any of the ones Bryce has played in.
-
No, but it's sadly better than Bryce.
-
There isn't a point for the Panthers. I'd just personally like to know. I have a very strong suspicion but another game of Dalton looking considerably better would remove all doubt.
-
I'm talking about the overall passing attack looking a lot more viable.l, not specific stats. Though the specific stats I'd point to for leading to the overall passing attack looking a lot more viable is that we actually threw the ball downfield with some success.
-
I'd just like to know for sure. If Andy Dalton looks a lot better than Bryce Young again then it's not a fluke.
-
It's whatever to me. We all called for Brown and the offense still sucked. It honestly probably got even worse. How about we see that red headed dude at QB again? Let's find out of the offense suddenly looks a lot better again. That sure would be uncomfortable confrontation with reality.
-
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Reports were that we would've taken David Carr if we had the #1 pick instead of being forced to settle for Julius Peppers at #2 and then falling backasswards into Jake Delhomme.

Burns went from underrated nationally when tied to the Panthers to overrated nationally entering into free agency. If we ink him long-term, expect the narrative to shift again.
