Oh lord. We just need to let Howell go to a decent organization and keep that 1st in our back pocket for the next coach to start over with.

Rich Eisen on Pelissero's QB piece

I was saying this a year ago. -
Weird. I've been assured by the Huddle that drafting an OT is a no brainer. OL fixed! Superb Owl!

Weird. I was assured by the drafniks that they'd checked that box for the next decade plus when they took Andrew Thomas just a couple of years ago. What happened? Did they not get the memo? Just fix the OL! What can possibly go wrong?

This is like relying on Harry and Lloyd not to fug up the Snowy Owl Benefit.

"What are we doing in the draft" 2022 edition.

Like a Joe Thomas type of franchise changer? -
GJBC knew the score and he was a habitual line stepper. It was Igo who finally pulled the trigger on him once and for all.

You're in here complaining, so yeah. Business as usual. -

At some point you have to start swinging. What's the bigger opportunity cost, drafting a bust of a QB with good prospects at other positions available or drafting a good prospect at another position while passing on a legit QB? If you need a QB then QB is always your #1 need and your #2 need almost becomes irrelevant. If we were smarter with how we targeted vet stop gaps we wouldn't be so desperate. -

It's always either "there's no QB worth drafting" or "all the QBs will be gone before we pick". According to the Huddle it's never the right time to draft a QB. -

That's fine. There's always next year... when it'll be the same story again. -

It's always a gamble. Y'all acting like a LT is a guarantee but just look at all the LT busts over the past two decades- 73 replies

Cool. I thought it would be obvious that "all" didn't mean literally "all" but you do you. But, you're done and you're not mad, right? Do the math. I'll be shocked if it doesn't come out 4:1 D:O in a completely offensively driven league.

Add up the draft pick value of our picks we've spent on offense vs. defense.
-
Agreed. Put the pick on the auction block and take the highest bidder.
-
Dude is a monster. I honestly don't see how he isn't a a top 10 lock after testing out as an absolute freak. 3-4 NT, 3 tech, 5 tech. I think he can do it all.
-
If we make a pick at 6, future picks are getting traded. A dude as trade happy as Fitterer ain't gonna sit on his hands while 131 draft picks get made.
-
Why would anyone be shocked? Under Rhule we've spent all our draft assets on D while trying to build an O off the NFL's trash heap.

I don't think he was ready to be an NFL OC yet, but I think people are greatly underestimating the impact of Sam Darnold's mental limitations. Darnold at QB basically meant we ended up having to run essentially a HS version of the offense we were running previously under Teddy. Teddy suffered from a lack of aggressiveness. He didn't push the ball down the field or into the endzone, but the offense pretty much ran as I tended between the 20s and we loved the football. Darnold's physical talents were supposed to make up for what Teddy lacked. Instead, we had to really dumb down the offense because Darnold is a one read, then glance at the checkdown, then panic QB because he's not a QB. He has the physical tools but he doesn't see the field like a QB.
-
Everyone who keeps talking like fixing the OL will magically turn Sam Darnold into a legit NFL QB just isn't realizing the problem. Sam Darnold isn't a QB. He's a talented thrower of the football but he doesn't see the field like a QB. Here's what happens far too often when Sam Darnold actually has time. Pure panic followed by a comical mistake.
-
Is stating that Sam Darnold sucks and he isn't the answer really "trashing" him? I mean, it's basically just acknowledging reality.
-
Said he was done. Said he wasn't mad. Clearly wasn't done. Clearly mad as hell. You really gotta address this self awareness issue.
-
You're doing what you always do. Blind homerism and complaining. Mixed with a stunning dose of lack of self awareness to realize that it's all you ever do. You don't have to apologize for it. Everyone fully expects it.
-
Complain. Blind homerism. Pooing. Those are your Huddle activities. A lot of your posts are a combination of the first two. Post a blind homer take while complaining other opinions exist.
