  1. What's the upside? I could see more upside with a prospect dripping with physical talent who was raw as hell. At least there would be upside. I just think Zappe is probably as good as he's ever going to get because I don't think there's any addition physical ceiling there to strive for.
  2. Honestly, yeah he is. Walker's arm is in another league. Zappe just lacks the physical ability to make NFL throws.
  3. After today, honestly I wouldn't. I don't think he's draftable. Wide open passes to mid-range targets. That's where he excels. Those are rare in the NFL, particularly when the defense knows you can't beat them deep.
  4. Same. Really wanted to see him against better competition... well, I did. Not good. Great touch passer. But he doesn't have a fast ball and his range is about 40 yards max. That just doesn't get it done at the NFL level. He's basically a very poor man's Teddy. I need some convincing at this point to think he can even be backup caliber
  5. If we had a 2nd round pick I'd be banging the table for Johnson.
  6. Yeah, I really wanted to see him today just based off his video game numbers. But yeah... he's just not an NFL talent. Helluva D1-AA QB though, not trying to take that away from him.
  7. Zappe put up video game numbers in college but he got exposed today as simply not an NFL QB. He doesn't have an NFL arm. I mean, not even close. I thought he was an intriguing mid-round pick prior to today. I honestly wouldn't draft him after today. I don't think he's a draftable prosect.
  8. I like Johnson a lot based on watching him at BC. I just didn't see much of anything from Senior Bowl OLmen to make me stump for any of them.
  9. I like mean streaks when combined with good technique and effectiveness. I saw very little of either from OLs today.
  10. The big losers in this game have been the offensive linemen. I get that this is format is unfairly biased to the defense. The OL and QBs/WRs need more communication work then the defense by and large, but the pass protection and run blocking both have been a struggle on both sides of the ball the majority of the game. Not good for the OL involved.
  11. Howell will be the best QB on the field today. Because he just is.
  12. Cashing my checks knowing my days are numbered while figuring out how to salvage my value as a college head coach.
  13. Nah, I can understand and supported him getting a second year. We had a bad record but everyone expected us to have a bad record and we were largely competitive. We really looked like we could be a better QB away from making some noise. Then we traded for Sam Darnold and I was officially on the "yeah, this college guy ain't gonna work out" bandwagon from that point on. There's no way he should've gotten a third year after this season's dumpster fire.
  14. I'm accustomed to our place as the NFL's farm team. Anyone worthwhile gets plucked by a better organization.
  15. Yep. Blaming Rhule completely on Hurney was always just passing the buck. You don't give a guy $70M and full control unless you're sold head over heels.
  16. This is where I'm at. I'm sold on his physical talent. I'm not sold on him actually being a QB. I'm definitely NOT sold on our staff being able to develop him.
  17. I was saying down the stretch that Fitts absolutely needs to go along with Rhule. No GM willing to take a job baby sitting a college coach who has final say on all football matters is simply not a GM worth having. Hell, it's not a GM at all. The guy doesn't even negotiate contracts. He's just the head scout with a GM title.
  18. How can anyone be surprised? We've made the dumbest decision possible repeatedly ever since Rhule was hired. This makes perfect sense. Tepper let this man utterly destroy this franchise on two years and now he's keeping him onboard to ensure the recovery is as long and painful as possible.
  19. I absolutely RAILED against the Funchess pick. Big guy who played small and soft. He added nothing to a WR corps that already had KB. Well, to be fair, he really didn't add anything to any NFL WR corps period.
  20. Damn... Cam could really sling it back in the day. And yes, KB could've been great.
  21. Decent at everything, great at nothing. He looks good when there's a clean hole to hit. He's going to reliably get you what's there but he's also going to reliably create very little beyond that. He can be an NFL player but he may need to also add ST ability to make it.
  22. Ty Chandler is a late round pick/priority UDFA type. Good college RB but one of those decent at everything great at nothing types who isn't going to do anything that wows NFL scouts, either in drills or on film. He's probably going to have to make it in the NFL as a core special teamer/#3 RB.
