Preseason Game #2 - who impressed/who disappointed

Zavala looked like a rookie playing out of position. He had more good snaps than bad so that's good. Jordan is just bad. I cannot see any way he makes the roster. -
Preseason Game #2 - who impressed/who disappointed
Jon Snow replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm still a little disappointed in the defense. At least we get a reality check on the depth before it starts to count. I'm impressed by how fast this board turned on the coach and the team. I think it might be a record. -
It went about how I expected it would considering the approach they are taking to these games. My expectations for the season is that it will be a mixed bag of success and failure. This team has had too much turnover on offense and its thin on playmakers to expect too much this season.

I must be the only person not freaking out about this game.

You have to remember that those teams have had years of great drafting and smart offseason signings to get where they are. The Panthers have struggled mightily at that for quite sometime now. I'm not sure you can compare us to those teams right now. Even if Fitterer nails the next draft and FA I still say we will need more depth just about every position. It takes a great GM to build a perennial contender. The jury is still out on Fitts.

That's a Noble endeavor. I suppose we can let it slide for the time being.

This should have been pinned so it doesn't get buried in the useless threads going on in here. The mods are slacking.

Panthers featured in upcoming Roku series about 2023 NFL draft
Jon Snow replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just saw that. I have got to see this show. -
I suppose it depends on whether they want to comb through cuts or throw a chunk of money at the problem. I'm not sure he has anything to offer better than what we are struggling with. I'm hoping it's not as bad as it looks from their last performance. I truly think they were unprepared for that game. Frank knows that most of the blame falls on his shoulders. He underestimated how the Jets would approach that game and the readiness of his own team. He will not make that same mistake twice.

To be honest I really do not why he is not signed yet. I do know that what little I saw him play since he left here he wasn't good. It was kinda ugly to tell the truth.
-
He's not any better that what we have now. Age has caught up to him. I hear Greg Little is available.
-
What else can they do? The only true 1st choice they made was Bryce. After that it was the best available among their wants and needs. They wanted Mingo pretty bad as well but they willing to take someone else had Mingo gone the pick before. They had a plan in place for anything that happened but I'm certain Nolan was plan A.

I watched the draft room live that night whenever they cut to the Panthers There was a lot of activity that didn't make the Blueprint in the Panthers draft room. Fitterer was working the phone before Nolan went off the board and when his name was called his expression told me he was not happy about it. I'm not saying they weren't going to take Mingo had they pulled off getting Nolan. But Fitterer wanted Nolan pretty bad.
-
I knew it on draft night. They really wanted Nolan Smith. If I were a betting man I would put money on that they tried to trade up to get him but didn't get a partner or an offer they could afford.

How would you feel if we cut Chuba and signed Hunt?
Jon Snow replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
RB is not the problem. We need oline. -
There seems to be a rash of back problems with the team.
