  1. Sorry, got the name wrong. But it was the Raiders coach.
  2. Anytime they are dealing with the possible face of the franchise I would expect him to be in on the interviews.
  3. That's what I meant, the qb's. Should have been specific.
  4. Did anyone catch the interview with the Raiders coach yesterday? I came away with the impression that the parting of ways could have been a blessing for Carr. Gannon is a strange dude who appears to be in over his head.
  5. I suspect Tepper will be in on all the player interviews today.
  6. Hey, we need all the credible eyes we can get to help find talent.
  7. I just saw an interview with the Chargers GM Tom Telesco. Did not know he worked for the Panthers in their inaugural season. He was telling the story about him being at his first combine as a 25 year old working for the Panthers. He was tracking down players for Richard Williamson to interview. Said he had to track down Keyshawn Johnson for him. Pretty cool interview.
  8. My guess is that it's a plan B element that they are covering in case they need to move fast to get a deal done. I know that when Carr was released it changed a lot of teams plans at qb. I think it's a smart move to know if he is really a fall back option.
  9. No worries. I suck at catching sarcasm in typed words.
  10. I heard it was going to be pay per view.
  11. I think the Eagles would beg to differ with you. Had their defense shown up they win. A complimentary offense and defense wins championships. You have to score a lot of points sure but you better be able to prevent the other team from doing the same thing. Your offense cannot consistently keep putting the defense in bad situations either.
  12. I watched his press conference live and I came away with that impression.
  13. I've been thinking this is the plan all along. I just cannot see them gambling everything on a rookie from day one.
  14. I had to poop that just because I would actually love to hit that man in the mug with a pile of poop.
  15. Athleticism is definitely a factor. These guy's would not be here if they weren't. All of the qbs coming out in recent years are very athletic. That is the reality of the kids playing at the college level. The nfl has been trying to adjust to the evolution of the prospects coming into the league. There's no such thing as a pocket passer qb anymore. The colleges are just not producing those types of QBs. The game has evolved to a point that inorder to compete you need a qb with some mobility. They need enough mobility to make things happen to keep a drive alive in the big game. You are competing against the likes of Mahomes, Hurts, Burrow, Allen, you get the picture.
  16. Absolutely, I want the smartest most accurate guy there is behind center. Look at it this way. If the guy already has great footwork, anticipation and can also fit it in tight windows as a rookie coming out of college that is guy you want to look at. Those natural abilities that are difficult to teach is invaluable to a rookie. It slows down the game for them because they are not thinking about their mechanics while still trying to read a defense. They are not going to have wide open receivers all the time at this level.
  17. There's still time for them to screw it up somehow.
  18. I've heard that his offense can be hard to master for the average qb. Not sure what that means. I assume it to mean it has a library of plays and concepts to learn to fully master it. I'm sure he can adapt it to the abilities of his qb as he's done in the past. The only difference would be that this would be the first time he's had the opportunity to select who he thinks can master it from the draft. The only other thing that could upset that would be that they could not manage to get the guy they wanted for whatever reason. But I am confident that they will get one of the 2 guys they will have it narrowed down to.
  19. I thought I heard someone on Total Access a few weeks back speculate the Howell could be released this offseason. I thought it an odd thing to say at the time but seeing as it's that team I wasn't too shocked. The way Ron sounded in his interview today and as that tweet states, he sure sounded like they would take a qb in this draft. He didn’t sound like he was excited about his current qb situation to me.
  20. That doesn't mean athleticism overrides the other two. It doesn't matter how big, fast or strong they are if they aren't accurate enough or smart enough to master the position at this level.
  21. I didn't say I did. I do know that we could get outbid if some other teams are willing to get in the bidding war. Are you good bro?
  22. It would certainly would preferable if the starter was already on the roster. But we have not been that lucky since Jake signed here.
  23. It's not speculation when you state it as fact.
