  1. It's not only a division opponent but it's actually in essence the first playoff game for both teams. The winner will go on to host a home playoff game.
  2. I'm not involved in the hiring process nor do I set the criteria for choosing said candidates. My comments were on Wilks performance under the same conditions as his predecessor. I am not lobbying for any candidate one way or the other.
  3. Mistake? No. He will improve the competitiveness of this team. He's already done that in short order. Will it get us over the top to a SB? Who knows? You have to take a chance on someone.
  4. Correct. Just because you want to hire the guy doesn't mean he has to take the job.
  5. Yes they are limiting the offense. That is mostly do to 1). the effectiveness of the run game and 2). past limitations of our current qb. They are slowly working on number 2. If they had just stuck to fixing these 2 issues in the offseason and not bring in Mayfield to play that stupid qb competition bs who knows where this team would be. But we had to endure that crap to get rid of the biggest problem facing this team, Rhule.
  6. That's all you are going to get at this point in the season. The only clue you may get in the offseason is how long they wait to do the interviews. If they are going after a coach on a team in the playoffs they will wait to interview them when the playoff rules allow it. If its Wilks you will know before the playoffs are over most likely. The coordinators will follow the same timeline if it's Wilks who gets the job, unless he stands pat with who he had now.
  7. Have you heard the phrase "stump trained their asses"? It's used in the same connotation as "bent them over and went in deep"
  8. It's probably closer to 70% of their chances for success in the nfl.
  9. It's also important that they land on the right team that can develop them. Once they get in the nfl their college exploits do not matter anymore. They start from square one in this league. If they don't land in the right situation then their chances of success are almost nill.
  10. So you guys want to bring in Carr. What would be the end goal here. He will never get us to the SB and would only make this an average team at best. I heard the same reasoning with Mayfield. Stop the madness!
  11. He had a wide open receiver in the end zone right in front of him but decided to throw it over the head of a double cover receiver instead.
  12. Easiest way to keep Brady on the bench is to get the run game going. He can get roughing the passer calls if his ass is on the bench while we run it down their throat.
  13. I just have no desire to see another vet bridge qb come in here to wetnurse a rookie until he's ready. Especially if it costs more draft picks and top 10 qb money. If you are going to go that route just draft a qb and try to convince Sam to stick around another season while they get the rookie ready for 2024.
  14. Every outcast qb is a potential landing spot with the Panthers. Tell me something we don't already know.
  15. A real football stadium had to be available somewhere.
  16. There is a baseball diamond under the turf on one end of the field.
  17. That field is garbage. Whoever chose this stadium to play this game should be fired.
  18. The common theme I take away from these interviews between Derrick and Shaq is that some guys got special treatment and that didn't sit well with a lot of these guys. I think McCaffrey and Side Show Bob were two of the special treatment guys and could be the main reason McCaffrey asked for a trade. Wilks wasn't playing that game.
  19. I agree with all of this. I will add that I think Wilks realized what the reality of the situation was and accepted it for what it is. We have to get back to basics. Get rid of the malcontents and start over with the pieces. We had a somewhat competitive defense, most days. The offense was a mess and couldn't even do anything remotely competitive. The qbs couldn't pass and the rbs couldn't get 100 yards if you spotted them 50 yrds. So the easiest fix was the run game because the qbs would take a miracle. It appears we can check the run game off the list. The defense is still not good but it'll do for now. Now to step 2, the qbs. Where do you start here? Im sure he and McAdoo had a game of rock-paper-scissors to see who gets to make that call. So Sam it is. All that is left to do now is try get him comfortable in the pocket and able to read a defense. Its a tough challenge indeed but it looks to be showing a little progress. Baby steps i guess. So what you are seeing are the results of a methodical development of an nfl team. The only problem is I do not think they have enough time to see if it will work out.
