Brugler: Next year's quarterbacks "not universally loved"
Jon Snow replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
It happens every year. Predicting what qb's will emerge as top candidates a year early is a fools errand. You have to let it play out in the year they come out and the last game is played. Then you will see who rises to the top. -
Brugler: Next year's quarterbacks "not universally loved"
Jon Snow replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think you will. There's just too much desperation for qb help that teams will take 2 easily. We are going to be one of those teams. -
We are so qb poor that you all should hope that the kid is a capable backup at minimum. Even if we draft a qb he will not be starting right away. There's not a qb in this draft that should be a day 1 starter. I'm also not on the sign a vet train ride just yet as that has worked out so well for us. What I see as ultimately playing out is that we take one of the qb's in the 1st. It doesn't matter which one because neither will start right away. That will be Corrals opportunity to make his case for the starting job. It's in all our best interest for him to be more than a wasted draft pick at a critical position. To rely on the next draft pick to be the quy without seeing what you have in the only qb you've drafted since Cam Newton is a serious waste of resources. Something like that does not instill faith that the FO could draft and develop a qb even if they were handed one.

Is Burns really worth backing up a Brinks truck?
Jon Snow replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
As long as we're not the team to give him that contract I really do not care what someone else is willing to pay him. This is a bad investment for us. -
What is happening to this team is not tanking. We are just a bad team ran by bad coaches hired by a bad owner.
-
Hate? Noone hates him you goof. He's overrated sure but I've seen no hate. Unless you consider anything short of licking his ass hate?

I'm not so sure they think of it that way. I truly believe Wilks wants to evaluate everyone that's not a starter to determine who stays and who goes. I get the sense that not everyone agrees in who should be starting. He even said as much in his first press conference. Having said that, I'm not sure why PJ is getting the opportunity to get more audition tape. I guess Baker and Sam have enough already and neither are staying after this season so it kinda makes sense. It falls in line with what he's said already. Or he's just trolling the fans. You decide I guess.

Is Burns really worth backing up a Brinks truck?
Jon Snow replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
HELL NO! -
That's how the Panthers use him and you see how well that's going. He's a LB and no amount of hope and hype is going to change that. If the FO pays Burns like a DE then every single person involved with that decision should be fired.
-
Anytime you can trade a LB for 2 1sts and a 2nd you do that without hesitation. We need DE's, true DE's. Not 3-4 outside linebackers.
-
A full time coach sure. Wilks is an interm coach on a team where everyone and their mothers know that the entire staff is going to be let go after the season. What's the point?
-
It may indeed be a charade. This isn't really necessary from my perspective to continue that. But I suppose since they gave the last coach full control it makes sense Wilks gets free reign to does as he sees fit with the staff. If he starts firing staff after each loss he may find himself the only coach left on staff by the end of the season.
-
This is interesting. Why would it matter to him at this point what coaches are retained? Unless he was asked to evaluate the entire staff by Tepper or Fitterer? I mean they are all dead men walking and Wilks understands that, right?

Are we a better, equal or worse situation than the colts?
Jon Snow replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
He took it for the money obviously. Easy way to make some vacation money for next summer. -
It was never off. It was an inevitable conclusion that was predicted from the start.
-
I'm fine with this for some sadistic reason.

Brian Burns is not a franchise DE. DJ Moore is not a #1 wr. But yet you guys want to treat them as such when neither have lived up to those billings to date. Desperation will lead you down a path you do not want to go.

Who thinks Wilks and PJ are still the answers?
Jon Snow replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
No. I half heartedly hoped he could be a Cinderella story here as he was a local guy. That was probably more due to my own selfish desire to not have to endure any more shitty football. Today crapped all over that possibility. -
Confirmed: Al Holcomb is not good at his job
Jon Snow replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
That pretty much sums up the entire staff here. -
He did better after that. Everyone looked like ass the first half. Well the entire game honestly. But he had a good game considering the ass beating they took.
-
At least Marshall showed he should be playing more.

Justin Fields 61 yard rushing touchdown
Jon Snow replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
F*ck Justin Fields. -
I hate that soft zone poo!
-
There's a lot of games left so I wouldn't count on it.

The Bengals are scoring at will.
