It takes more than a killer instinct to be a successful qb in the NFL. The ability to lead guys older and more successful than said qb is the one thing that makes or breaks a rookie qb. Talent only goes so far in the NFL. Everyone is talented at this level. Being a leader that can get pros to follow you into battle is the real test.

His points are valid. But at some point a team drafting that high has to go after a qb. If they are constantly drafting in the top 10 it's most likely due to not having a good qb. I completely agree that this draft doesn't have a clear cut leader at the position and agree there is too much talent ahead of them to take one at 6. Trading down is a pipe dream unless you forgo taking a LT or edge rusher in hopes of getting a qb further down in the draft. My hope is they take bpa between LT or edge rusher. Then if they want one of these qbs they figure out how to trade up for one without giving away next year's picks. Good luck with that.

Such a tragedy. RIP. My heart goes out to his family.

If I knew that I would be working for an NFL team making bank instead of on here wasting my time with you fools.

Calm down man, no one is wanting him here. No reason to bust a blood vessel over it.

I loved that show. -
Panthers may now be hesitant to trade back...

I think the best spot to be is in the mid teens down. The Saints are sitting pretty right now. They would only need to move up a few spots to around say 18 or 19 to get a qb or a decent LT. They wouldn't have to move up to the top 5 unless they just really wanted one if those guys -

Because he's an idiot. -
To his credit he has shown he can on a hand full of occasions. He just can't put it together in a full game.

I'm beginning to think his job is not in any danger this season. His seat is a bit warm inside the building but not to the level the fans think or want. -

It's probably more likely Tepper makes that call. Anything short of trading next years draft is Fitterer and Rhules call. -
I know. I was just piling on. I should change my name to pot stirrer.
-
Nah, give me grab ass on the stage Tepper. At least his sins are out in the open, maybe. I don't mind the wife butt clinch myself. At least Tepper is trying to improve the team. He's just struggling to get it done, much like his Appaloosa World in Rock Hill. My thing with Tepper is he hasn't shown that same fervor in finding a person to direct him, or teach him if you will, as to how to build a successful football team. It's difficult as a fan to sit through his learning on the fly. Rant over.

KC looking to trade up into top 10.

Also, slow and steady has nothing to do with anything. You build with whatever you can scrape up to make at team. Until you have a qb you are building. Whether it's "slow and steady" is predicated on how well your FO is at identifying talent and have the capability of acquiring them. So this "new" way of building is just repackaged "going all in" that fans think is what's holding their team back. -

But throwing that much at a rookie wr that has a good chance of being a bust doesn't seem like a sound choice. They could trade all that for a young proven wr and it would make more sense. -

That sounds like a lot to pay for a rookie wr. I would say it's more of an offer to trade those picks for a young up and coming star on a reasonable contract to me. Better hide DJ or Fitterer might be tempted to trade him for some picks. -

Why would they want to be in the top 10? I'm calling BS. -
I agree. Unfortunately, it also makes him extremely attractive as trade bait. That worries me with this FO. The rumors of young players being available for trade is sticking in the back of my mind as this offseason drags on.

Next year’s QB crop is better. Let’s wait until then.

Even if Rhule is still here he should still take one anyway. There's no depth and the odds one of these guys in this draft being a star right out of the gate is astronomically against it. If he takes one in this draft it's a start at rebuilding the group. I hope he's learned his lesson with reclamation projects but that's yet to be determined. The wild card is Tepper. He still thinks he can buy a franchise qb. He wants a face for the franchise that will fix everything, especially with the fickle fans. They will not pass on another qb this time.
