Panthers PFF Grades vs Falcons
Jon Snow replied to Dave Gettleman's Shorts's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not so sure it was making him play safety as it was changing the secondary to 4 CBs and a S. Its just a different set based on matchups. -
Bryce Young now leads the NFL in game-winning drives since his debut

Its a double edged sword. In order to comeback you either were never in the lead or lost it at some point. There's no data point for that. -

It really should only be applied per season. If you want to guage if you to track per season average or trend that's really the only time it matters beyond 1 season. -
As soon as 1 OC figures it out everyone will copy it. Right now everyone is taking advantage of a run game if they have one. Until more teams are able to stop it it will be that way another season or two. Nows the time to build an offense everyone else wants to copy.

I think you are comparing a comeback win versus a game winning drive. If you are down in the 1st half until you score on 1 drive that wins you a 7-3 game how do you decide if that's a comeback win or a game winning drive? Is it both? You stat nerds give me a headache. I need a beer. -

It also says it considers a possession starting in the 3rd that leads to a score in the 4th quarter. That's way too broad. It should be determined by each teams last possession. Nothing more. -

My definition is that you have to score to win the game on the last possession. Your last possession. If the other team gets 1 last possession after your defense has to hold that lead on the opponents last possession to win the game. -

Its more of a team stat like wins and losses. The way they define it doesn't truly isolate the qb's contribution. -

Thats what it should be. The last possession. I would even consider the defense having to defend you last score as a comeback, but only the last opposing teams possession. -

I get that but it considers have the lead going into the 4th as a comeback. That i do not get. -
the 49ers are likely our worst matchup of the season....

I hope they learned a lesson from that game. -

This is the part I take issue with. But if it's applied equally to every qb then it's fair. But it becomes pointless if they apply a broad definition of what it means. In this instance every win is a comeback win if you have the lead going into the 4th quarter. -
I don't have to, I've been paying attention. Defenses are getting better or qb's are getting worse because I've seen the final yards of qb's around the league and it's way down this year.

I pretty sure it doesn't consider getting a lead early in the 4th quarter and the defense never surrendering it. It should only be the last possession that leads to the winning score. -

The stat itself is simply highlighting 1 aspect of any given game. It is only showing that the qb/team was behind and had to drive the field to score and win with littletime left. It doesn't take into account how the team got there only that they were behind. So in this case in all the wins that he managed to get he did it one the last drive and the defense held the lead. It doesn't account for how many time he could come back prior to that as those are L's he already hold. -

Aren't they applying the same standard for every qb? If so, then what's the beef? -

That is a fact. -
Pete would be better off adopting a run run run punt strategy tonight.

Jon Snow replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The 49ers are probably 1 of the 2 teams in the nfc title game this year. We have a snowballs chance in hell of winning this game. But it is a good measuring stick for how this team is progressing. I will take anything other than an embarrassment on national TV. Just don't get blown out. -
Its one of those shows that it's not the same the second time around. Cheers was great but doesn't seem so funny anymore. Now BBT seems timeless.

This is worth watching every second of it. Its comedic gold. He kinda reminds me of a few on here.

Young wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week
Jon Snow replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Everyone missed the fact that there are 2 Panthers nominees. When has that ever happened? -
Something is off with him and I can't put my finger on it. He doesn't look hungry enough and receivers know it.
-
I didn't say they were all warranted. He's still off his game and giving up big plays as well.
-
You disagree?
