Golden is a hands catcher and is quick out his breaks. I think he was one of, if not the fastest in the guantlet drill. That's how you tell if they are a yac guy. I think he's being overlooked.

If they are going offense it should McMillan or Jeanty at 8. If they trade back then it's Golden for me. But I vote stay put and take Walker. I could be open to another defensive player at 8 as well.

Sounds like a Panthers starter to me. He will be good enough in rotation. Much better than what we had before.

OR, Mykel Williams, Starks/or the kid from SC. If no qbs go in the top 10, which is looking more like a possibility each passing day, there could be a run on defense at the top. Those qb needy teams may wait until round 2 to take a chance on one of these qb's.

It makes perfect sense. If not him it will be the kid from Texas.

I think the original plan was to get Milton, Brown and a S on day 1. They managed 2 out of 3.

This will set them up to go NT in round 2 or 3. This guy will mentor the rookie backup/rotational guy they draft. It takes rookie DT's 2 seasons to get up to nfl level play.

I certainly chuckle when I look at the roster. It's going to take several great drafts to make this team competitive. Last year's draft did not help matters much.

This could take them out of drafting a qb.

In fairness, the players they signed last year were supposed to be good against the run. That proved to be false.

I cannot understand how he survived last season. I'm not a fan of his by any means. I've never liked his defense and do not expect it to be better this season. So given any upgrades I doubt it will be that much improved. I hope I'm wrong because improving the defense will have the biggest improvement to our win totals this coming season.

You will pay a premium for young promising FA players. It's the nature of the business. You better be able to draft well or you will have to pay through the nose to overcome that.

They won't fix it completely. They will just have to upgrade where they can and fill gaps with replacement level players until they can draft a starter to replace them.

I'm indifferent to it. I see it as a necessary expense that they are paying a high price for due to past mismanagement and decades of terrible drafting.

I'm sure they had him penciled in as a get but knew it wouldn't be a sure thing. There's always a plan B. Someone will be signed to fill the gap for the time being. They need so much help that they surely have a long list of guys who they think can help it's just a matter of who they can afford to sign.

They are kinda forced to be active. The defense is so bad that they cannot afford to sit on their hands this offseason. Now the will not be able to sign all the top FA'S of course, but they have to be strategic in their approach. If they can get Holland that would fix the starting safety group somewhat for the time being. They will need another DB/S to be a starter as Evero loves having 5 DB's on the field and one will need to be able to play both S and CB. That guy will probably come from the draft is my guess, especially if they get Holland.
