We get it--you hate the big picture. I stated facts--not about hate or me. Grow up.

OK, say we sign Watson and lose our pass rush (Reddick gone, Burns in trade)---we have 1 decent (free agent) safety (Chinn in trade) and a weakened run defense (Jones in Buffalo). That will degrade the corners, exposing Henderson and Taylor--and Horn at times. I am guessing the defense would fall to the middle of the pack at best. At LT we will have BC, at LG we will have ????? , at C we have Elflien, at RG and RT we have good players. We would have little cap room to upgrade, and in this year's draft, we have a fourth rounder and two fifths. Next year, our first pick is in the third round. The following year? Third round. That means we'd have to build through free agency---not the recipe one needs when the QB is taking in 14% of the cap. And he is a sex offender, convicted or not. If cheering for him does not bother you a little, your priorities are a bit off. While the idea of Watson intrigues me if we could add an offensive lineman, the upgrade on offense is likely to be offset by the downgraded defense. So yeah, I would like to see Watson come here, but I also see why it would take something more than 1 QB to make us a winner.

All I know is I have not shared this much fake wisdom with so many people since I used to talk to sorority girls at parties.

so they met LAST NIGHT for the second time? Was not sure the meeting had gone down yet. Trying to get work done and keep up. I could do it, were it not for that damn Garry Cobb fella.
-
No official word. but reports say that New Orleans has cleared cap room and is meeting with DW again today? Atlanta has a 4pm deadline before a Ryan bonus kicks in,,,,
-
what about the third half?
-
yep. Weinke playing in his home state I believe.

This is where I am---I want a flashy young QB as much as any of you--but to become a bitch is not my desire. They want to dip into our best talent on the roster and 4-5 top end draft picks--and many are OK with that, even if it means that a player who is destined to be suspended, carrying all that character baggage, and does not want to play here? Let's move on with some damn dignity
-
Come on Garry--what the hell did you do? No man gets his woman that much unless he screwed up.
-
His damn earhole looked like the entrance to the Bat cave.
-
If you are Indy, you are low balling the hell out of the Falcons today for Ryan--taking the salary for no picks.
-
If true, and Atlanta drops out, then the Saints would not be a compromise.
-
I need a source too. Everybody has a source these days. All I have to offer is my guesses. Damn I wish I had a source.
-
damned if you do, damned if you don't

not when he starts in October
-
Yes. For them to play along, they had to cut ties with Baby Baker. They will now try to trade him, but I do not see a first rounder in the cards--maybe a third or lower to take the cap. Hope not here, but he is better than Darn.

He said, "rejoice." that was a dead giveaway. No serious person on a football discussion board uses that word.

your friends on the Huddle and bits of pieces of circumstantial evidence we scholars are piecing together. It may not be the result we are hoping for, but it is a beautiful thing. Watson is supposedly meeting with the Saints again.
-
now they are saying Saints but nothing yet.
-
I think this is the move, but I cant get the RGIII comparisons out of my head.

So if Watson goes to New Orleans after they just extended and guaranteed the contracts of a bunch of "over 30" players, if they have given up draft picks and possibly a few defensive players, and Watson is suspended for 6 games, then it is likely this move is for 2023. These "over thirty" players are then untradable, uncutable, and there will be no pipeline to replace them. As soon as 2024 they will start feeling the effects of having a bunch of overpaid, over-the-hill veterans on the roster in their mid 30s. It just does not make sense.
-
I mean, he was a stud in Houston and won 4 games or so.
-
To make cap room, the Saints extended the contracts of some aging players. They will convert to dead cap monies soon. Without draft picks to replace them, it will be interesting to see how New Orleans fields a team.

I heard nobody saying, "This is a fact" or "I can guarantee" anything. This entire issue is about a 26 year old diva who is trying to make a decision while fighting off depositions and grand jury hearings that have to embarrass and humiliate him to some degree. Minds change, and this was a very complicated issue. If the deal was to be done by Houston, it would have gotten done, but you include the kid in the midst of his whirlwind of emotions and ego---and the results are understandable. I will be damned if I am going to "shoot the messenger" because the news was unfavorable.
