  1. You forget the Undrafted Free Agents-some of these kids do not get picked. I will wager that we sign 2-3 undrafted free agents from this game.
  2. I am thinking that Rhule did not know Brady as well as he needed to know him, basing a lot on his national championship and Burrow's evolution, but he trusted Brady to select personnel and he missed. Yes, it falls on the head coach, but remember where we were with Cam, the pandemic, etc. and Bridgewater was pretty good (when surrounded by a good OL) in New Orleans. You do not hear comments now about QBs coming from Brady (of course, he is Covid-19 absent), but you do hear Rhule making them. He is letting it known that he is shopping for a QB. About Bridgewater, I find Rhule's use of the word "urgency" to be interesting. Does he mean late in games? Does he mean TB's career? I think he means "urgency" across the board---get the team out of the huddle, learn the 2 minute offense, know when to throw it down field in game situations and when to hit the check down. Know how to win the game in the fourth quarter--there is a different approach to the QB position when urgency is needed. TB stayed the same.
  3. There were not a lot of options, I suppose. But Rhule's honeymoon is now over. I think he will win in 2021, but he must fill 7 or 8 holes with quality players. I am not as convinced that Brady is this genius everyone thinks he is; I am more impressed with Snow and what he did with what he had.
  4. Yeah, that is where I am. Maybe he is plan C, and we will learn a lot over the next 6-8 weeks,
  5. Mac Jones (in interview) said, "Coach Rhule is just awesome..." Based on Rhule's comments on Jones, I sense a mutual man crush brewing. Sober up Matt.
  6. You named a few off my wish list. The middle rounds are full of these kinds of players--I expect us to take 2-3 OL in this draft. Dilliion R has been all over the mocks---I have seen him in the 20s to the 180s. I think he is a day 2 pick. Banks is one that I have not been paying attention to---need to read up on him so I can act like an expert later.
  7. 40th overall pick. We stole him.
  8. Is it safe to say that we will draft 2-3 players from this game? Is it safe to say that we will sign a few undrafted free agents from the Sr. Bowl? I stand by those questions.
  9. Exactly the example I thought of--then I thought of Silatolu.
  10. Small school guys need this game more than others, I would assume.
  11. The list: Denver won a super bowl with an over the hill, old QB. Indy just made the playoffs with Rivers (38), so 33 is a baby. New England: Patriots' coach just spent a year eating humble pie and realizing how he became a great coach. He will be a player because another losing season means he renounces his immortality. The Bills, Dolphins, and soon the Jets will be better teams. Indy or Denver, imo.
  12. I just got an idea or had a thought. I must start a thread to share this wisdom immediately!
  13. The turnover ratio that 2015 season was ridiculous. The defense is about as important to a qb as is the OL.
  14. Put this on a different thread. Helps me see the deal-- thought I would share: This demonstrates the coaching staff's confidence in building the roster with marginal, role players they find in the middle rounds. The trade, you ask, sorta plays into their strength If we did this deal, and you include comp picks, our draft suddenly looks like this (going from memory, so I am 80% sure this is correct): 3rd round Houston early round pick (67 overall) 3rd round Carolina (73 overall) 4th round Houston (100 overall before third round comp picks assigned) 4th round Panthers (104 overall before third round comp picks assigned) 5th round Panthers (135 overall probably around 145 after comp picks assigned) 5th round (comp pick around 168 or so) 6th round Panthers (around 190 after comp picks) 6th round Comp pick (around 215 or so) We would get out of bad contract and get a franchise QB. We would not pick in round 1 again until 2024
  15. I doubt he makes it to 50. That ACL tear probably is a factor.
  16. It was all plagiarized. Do not give Foo Poo. Joking of course. he is one of the best on here.
  17. The terms--would the panthers simply redo the Houston contract or do they have to honor it? I suppose that has to be a mutual agreement, but I was curious as to what normally happens. The reason? The Texans got a good deal on the front end, and we would have to pay him for the "meat" of the contract. I just don't know what the norm is (thinking cap and possible extension)

  19. But the cost of living is higher (10%) than in NC. so technically, the income tax in NC is less than the cost of living in Florida---so it is probably a wash, if he chooses to look at it that way.
  20. Question: Would the Panthers have to forward the contract and revise/extend it?
  21. With that last image, I can't believe a word of this!!! Nah, thank for the explanation--I am one of those who were confused about this--still am (slow learner) but this helps.
  22. Hindsight makes being a GM so much easier. Had we kept Cam and not signed Bridgewater, and Cam played like he did this year (Bridgewater, statistically, outplayed Cam) we'd be in bad shape. The way I recall this, Cam wanted a new deal (commitment). So it is more complicated. Ace has often pooed me for saying anything critical or negative about Cam. Just to clear the air, I think Cam was great for this franchise and I think he was horribly abused by Rivera and Hurney. I was saying it in 2011 and I was called a racist--far from it. Cam should be in the top 5 QBs in the league right NOW wearing black and blue---but they did not protect him, the ran him too much---to save their jobs.
