If all that was elite, the Panthers would have had a winning season instead of winning just 5 games. If the scouts/GM were elite, the they would have picked all starters and quality backups last draft instead of a bunch of guys that could barely get playing time. If the defense and DC were elite, they would have been able to at least stop the run instead of being run over like a door mat. If the skill players were elite, they would have scored more touchdowns and not dropped so many balls. The OL is a work in progress and it remains to be seen what will happen there. That said, the OL gives fans a better reason to hope than it has in years.

I think that depends on how Corral looks if he plays and if Tepper fires Rhule and there is demand from him and the new coach to draft a QB. Fitts seems to love the idea of drafting his own Russell Wilson, so I think he'll be inclined to trade the pick or select another elite prospect instead while giving his guy(Corral) another year to develop.

I agree with what you're thinking for the most part. That said, I think the Panthers did a better job with this draft than last year's by focusing more on need than churning the bottom of the roster. One thing I really don't like is the RAS reliance. I'd rather have guys that are good at actually playing their positions than guys that excel in the Underwear Olympics.

The Panthers finally addressed LT in the first round. Maybe next year they can take a return guy like they did Smith all those years ago.
