  1. I had quit watching when the Hornets pregame show started. I also started reading the game thread more and the reactions there were amazing and very funny to me.
  2. From Scott Fowler's article on the possibility of a trade for Watson:
  3. I would suggest not taking the games seriously if you find them embarrassing when you watch. I had a few good laughs watching the game yesterday and even more reading some of the reactions here.
  4. I don't share that belief. Rhule and his coaches have shown they don't do adjustments during games. Then the big adjustment from passing to running he talked about last week didn't happen either.
  5. People always said one of Teddy's biggest issues was lack of arm strength.
  6. Nah. Billionaires win by having the odds always unfairly stacked in their favor.
  7. I wouldn't say Ryan has a stronger resume than Shula by any means. At least Shula had prior experience as a HC(Alabama) and an OC before Rivera promoted him. Ryan's highest coaching job has been a QB coach for the powerhouses known as the Texans, Giants, Lions, and Panthers. Let's not forget his time coaching in the college ranks at the powerhouses of Harvard, Columbia, and Colgate. If Ryan was worth taking a shot on as an OC, some team would have done so by now with the way the NFL is after the next young genius coach. Having experience with Stafford sure worked out well too, didn't it? The answer to that is no, it didn't since Stafford rejected the Panthers.
  8. I think the backup plan for if Darnold fell off the cliff was to get a high pick and make a run for Howell. It had to be in their minds that the UNC homers would turn out in droves to support their guy.
  9. To be fair, this team hasn't lost 14 in a row either. At least not yet.
  10. You're probably right about the team looking for a new OC. This place would probably go bonkers, even more so than now, if the following quoted post happens. Ah. The Ron Rivera let's promote from within strategy to maintain consistency. We've seen how that movie before. It wasn't good either.
  11. Nah. This team still has holes on defense that need to be addressed as well as on offense. It'll take more than a WB and 2-3 new Oline guys to compete.
  12. And we've seen what happens when you have a great QB with a crap Oline already. It gave us three winning seasons. If Tepper is not willing to learn from past mistakes and forces the trade for Watson, he'll have entered MJ meddling territory. For a decade or so Jordan did that to the Hornets and they sucked. Hopefully it doesn't take Tepper that long to learn and having to hire a friend/former teammate willing to tell him to shut up to get things on track like it did with MJ.
  13. Legal issues aside, I wasn't aware the NFL had a decade long contract option. Just because he gets traded to a team doesn't mean he'll stay there past his current contract. Adding to that, giving up what the Texans want for him would be a major mistake while the team is rebuilding. Pulling off a huge trade for a QB is the kind of thing you do when you're ready to make that Superbowl run, not when you're trying to rebuild.
  14. Darnold is bad, there's no denying that. That said, Brady is also part of the problem. The Panthers had third quarter issues with Teddy last season, just like they did in the first three games when Darnold was playing well. That's on the coaches. I agree that Rhule will use Brady as a scapegoat.
  15. I agree that Rhule will be here for 2 more years unless he quits. I don't think it's because Tepper came from the Steelers though. I think it's because Tepper will not want to pay Rhule all that money for just two seasons. Tepper will want to get more from his investment.
  16. Yes, the 3-0 start gave a lot of fans unreasonable expectations. Those calling for Rhule to be fired may still have a point though since he does appear to be in over his head.
  17. And it doesn't matter that CMC is special since he can't stay healthy enough to play. Chuba wins by default since he is healthy enough to play.
  18. Same. He isn't some young offensive guru or defensive one for that matter. Nor was he a big college name.
  19. Corner was a need at that time, so I get why they went with Horn. That said, I preferred a tackle. I would have taken Slater if I was the GM since tackle was a huge need too.
  20. Like Stephanie, she will be gone at some point.
  21. Most fans didn't think so at the time. There were tons of people blaming the Hornets for being cheap.
