    Because as of the other day, SJ was only willing to retain 20% of EK's contract. The only two teams interested seriously are Pitt and Carolina. Both need SJ to retain more plus add a third team to retain even more.

    What if they traded Drury and Pesce for EK. I've heard that SJ is willing to go over 20% now on retention. (Been the hold up on ek deals) 35% or so now, add a second team at 20% and give up some picks and prospects. Canes have had this Tank deal on the table since day 1.

    Hard to tell anything with the way the team is playing. Not sharing the ball, no real movement. 2 assists in basically 1 half of basketball is quite ridiculous.

    I like letting Karlsson trade go and going for DeBrincat. Trade Pesce, then try to work something out with Skjei and if not, then do a trade with him too.

    So if this deal goes through and they don't make any other moves, where do you place TDA? Which 2nd pairing goes down to the 3rd? I like the Orlov signing but figured there was a trade that was going to happen for a forward.

    Good question, probably gonna play on the qualifying offer as a prove it year. Seems like he wants what he was about to get before he went dumb dumb.

    1, where does TDA play? 2, where do you slot Orlov? Orlov is going on line 2 at least since he's being paid 7.75m aav. There's a defenceman that's odd man out, so who do you pick?

    Add to the above, rumor is the Hurricanes have talked about getting DeBrincat. So in on Karlsson and DeBrincat right now and both would need to involve players going out.

    Yea I think Bunting almost has to be on line 1 or 2. I still expect movement with Pesce or Skjei though. No way they pay 7.75 for 3rd pairing.
