  1. Yep. We actually did really well giving up what we did to have our choice of the QBs. It hurts giving up the haul we did and initially I didn’t really like it, but I’ve definitely come around. Bears lost a ton of value. Could have probably doubled their war chest and just threw that opportunity away.
  2. That’s the only way it’s possible but I think that still doesn’t work out logically. Because Houston would know we aren’t going to drop that many spots and miss out on a QB. Unless we had Levis has out top prospect, trading with Indy could mean we miss out on Young, Stroud AND Richardson.
  3. Yep. They could have probably gotten #2 and #12 from Houston to move up to #1 to stop a team like us from leaping then and then traded #2 to us and still gotten DJ out of the deal. But now it just doesn’t make sense for Houston to trade with us. They either get their guy or they don’t. If we want who they want then we aren’t trading. And if we don’t then they know they get their guy anyway.
  4. I just think it’s an illogical move for Chicago to make. If we truly have BY as the best QB in the draft, even marginally so, it’s unwise for us to pass up on him to add an extra pick. And if we don’t, then Chicago gets their guy anyway without giving up extra assets. There’s just no way it makes sense to do. It would be awesome but it just won’t happen.
  5. Well that’s why I feel there’s absolutely no chance this trade ever happens. It’s illogical for them to make. Because we are never trading the pick unless we know we still get our guy. And if they know that, then that means they still get their guy without giving up extra assets. We either love BY and would never trade out or we love someone else and they get BY anyway.
  6. Okay. But if we think Young is the best player in this draft then we are taking him. If we don’t then we are taking Stroud (or I guess possibly AR). Regardless, we wouldn’t trade away who we feel has the best shot at being a franchise QB for an extra 1st round pick. And if they know we are trading because we believe that they’ll take BY then they know we aren’t taking BY anyway. It just literally doesn’t make any sense lol
  7. There’s absolutely no world in which Houston gives up #2 and #12 to move up one spot. This is simply not based in reality lol
  8. I have been in the OLB/CB camp for awhile, but I’ve actually come around to prefer an elite LG if one falls to us at 39. We are drafting a QB (seemingly one with a small frame at this point) and the last time we were in this position we landed a league MVP. But we never properly protected him which hurt both his overall production and really killed his longevity. We aren’t far off from an fairly elite OL. Moton,Icky, Boze, Corbett… let’s just fill this thing out, dominate teams on the ground and keep this QB here for the next 15 years
  9. At least he trolled us with Icky and Cade. He was trash but this offensive line finally looks the part and will be a huge boost to a rookie QB
  10. Some of the people that post on this site are just absolute douche bags. Here’s to hoping whoever we take is a stud and not bothering treating everyone that disagreed with my preference at QB like a total pos
  11. I’m with you 100%. I think both will be good and I’ll be happy with whatever the staff decides, but I don’t really understand the “if Bryce was bigger he would be the undisputed #1” crowd. Even if they were the same size, Stroud is still more accurate and has a stronger arm. Those are pretty important attributes for the position and those are the reasons I want Stroud over Young. But the honest truth is I’ll be perfectly happy with either because I think both could be franchise QBs. I just prefer the better arm to the better improvisation.
  12. Fair enough, but why is this sad then? Because the comment seems to imply it’s a pathetic attempt to elevate Stroud and while I can agree that the constant “Carolina is taking this QB” rumor posts everyday are getting annoying, this is actually a solid post diving into the guys character. I fail to see why this of all things is a bad post.
  13. No he doesn’t. But you are putting down Stroud after praising that douche bag. And as I recall, I pointed out you were completely wrong about OBJ and you seemed to quietly disappear after calling me an idiot essentially. All that is fine. But if you are going to poo on Stroud for sharing then I’ll gladly point out my only other encounter I’ve had with one of your terrible takes.
  14. Says the guy who tried to tell me OBJ is still a star WR and no longer diva whilst he remains in FA weeks later. Yeah… OBJ is totally awesome but this dude talking about his life in an interview is sad. Sure.
  15. Well that just doesn’t really make sense. Everyone in the NFL is bigger and faster. Presumably they might do a better job of protecting him and not let him take as many hits but he will clearly get hit harder in the NFL. Even rules in place to protect the QB won’t overrule the size and speed of DEs, DTs, LBers and S in the NFL.
  16. Ah yes. Nothing like one of the most exciting off seasons in team history with an opportunity to land whichever of the two potential franchise QBs in this draft to turn everyone here into a bunch of dickheads. That’s the huddle for ya. We have two potentially star QBs in this draft with the #1 pick and the very one here is still managing to act miserable.
  17. Does he have to end up as a WR1 this season? This is what I really don’t understand. I think some people are wanting WRs because it’s a sexy position without actually factoring what the teams needs are. WR is not a giant news right now. It was a month ago. But now it’s a pretty solid unit
  18. I’m perfectly happy with TMJ as our #3 which he is at this point. I know I’m in the minority here, but I don’t really even seen WR as a need right now. Yeah, Chark could be gone next season and Thielen isn’t getting any younger, but Chark, Thielen, TMJ, Laviska and Shi makes me feel there isn’t a ton of room for another WR. Certainly not in putting draft capital or significant cap space into. Next season? Sure. Right now? I think we need to sure up LB, DE, CB and even OL depth more than another WR
  19. Sure, I’m not disagreeing with that, but rather the notion that it was permanent. I remember the posts pretty well. “We have the new Jerry Jones” and “this franchise is doomed, he’ll be moving it out of Charlotte soon anyway” etc. He had a poor start but it was his first time doing it. It was way too early and while I’m indifferent to Tepper as a person it did always look to me like he truly does want to win. Based on the way he assembled this current staff, suggesting there’s no limit on what he would pay to make sure we have the best coaches possible is reassuring. It’s just the permanent doom and gloom that had set in here that gets exhausting lol
  20. Should we just put everything on pause until we create a foundation/culture though? You can only control the things you can control. Yeah, ideally it would be great if we were just a QB away from being SB contenders. But that’s rarely how the NFL works. You have to do the best with what you have to work with. I feel pretty confident in saying we have done a fantastic job of that this off season.
  21. The important thing is he learned. A large reactionary group on the huddle were convinced he was one of the worst owners in the NFL and had no clue what he was doing and was too stubborn to change. They were wrong though and Tepper deserves credit for doing things the right way this time and letting the football people in the building call the shots. That bodes well going forward. The last few years were truly terrible. Hopefully they were just growing pains and now we are set for a lot of fun in the coming years.
  22. I’m just speaking logically. We aren’t going to invest that much into the position. It just isn’t going to happen. Sure it’s possible that we COULD do it, but it’s not reality.
  23. I don’t see giving up draft capital and a young WR we can hopefully develop into a starting WR for Hopkins. Would I be opposed to the trade? No. But I don’t think that’s how you build
