  1. For me, I want a CB with our first pick and then throw the bag at Higgins or trade Chinn+ for Jameson Williams if he's available. We also just need to be better on day 2 and 3 of the draft. Some say we overdrafted Mingo, meanwhile the shifty speedy receivers like Dell, Downs and Nacua are thriving right now. To the OP, if there isn't a CB, TE, DT or EDGE worthy of the pick, I'd be happy with someone like Franklin, Worthy or Leggette. My hope is that one of Wiggins, Lassiter, or Burke is there for us. Boot 26 to the curb or at the least, nickel and insurance for Horn if he remains fragile. If Horn is back, we have two lockdown CBs.
  2. Only guy Bryce trusts rn. I really was looking forward to the chemistry that 9 was forming with 15 and 17 during TC and preseason, but they have been a disappointment thus far. Hopefully Brown can unlock the code to get these other NPCs activated on gamedays.
  3. I doubt ATL would do it within the NFCS but Pitts would be a solid get. Upgrades TE and helps with receiving issues. Also depends on price, but I want a TE with one of our first two picks next year, so if we can get him for a day 3 pick, I'd be onboard.
  4. This sums it up for me. I really thought Evero would find a way to maximize Chinn's abililties. It's still early, but for a guy with that much potential, he seems like a square peg in a round hole in Carolina. I feel like the unit of Bell, Woods (once healthy) and Jones collectively can give us what Chinn does for 15-18 snaps/game. If we're looking at upcoming contracts, Chinn also seems like the odd man out if we have to cut ties with someone. He's a UFA this summer, so if he's not a franchise piece, and it fetches us a young WR, I'm good with the swap.
  5. Random X account that throw poo against the wall for clicks. Keep it moving....
  6. I've seen this on the board a few times now....why would Detroit do this? I haven't heard how his time has been with the Lions. Would they give him up already?
  7. It's so unfair to critique Bryce through only 2 games. I know it's hard given Stroud's last two games (his first game was not good) and BY already injured. The good thing about the injury is that any QB would have sustained it and it's not a size/frame thing that caused it. 9 has shown enough in two games of "unteachable" things that "it" guys just have. The problematic issues are teachable/coachable. I have minimal concerns with his long-term trajectory. Trying to outrun NFL DL/LBs, not reading a well-disguised coverage by a vet S and DC, and misfiring to WRs that are not separating running route concepts properly is fixable. As the article mentioned the schemes, injuries and coaching staff hasn't done right by Young. Yes, CJ has had a similar situation, but I see flaws in Stroud's game that could get potentially exposed in time with more film on him.
  8. CJ has looked the part so far. Very excited to see him ball out and prove the doubters wrong. I will say though, after three games, there's an awful lot of assumptions being made about our players, coaches, as well as other teams' players. I do believe Panthers fans will always have their eye peeking over at the Colts and Texans for the next few years with their scorecard in hand. I think all these rookies, as is usually the case, will have different journeys to their respective successes. Bryce's looks to be a bit further down the road then three games in. A lot can change from week-to-week and season-to-season.
  9. I get the concerns, and if folks want to jump ship, go for it. There's a lot to be concerned with through 3 games. I will say, being at the game yesterday and arguably the best seats I've ever been gifted, that stadium at the ground level is insanely loud. I've been in the uppers there a few times and it sounds loud. Being a few rows up behind the Panther bench is a whole new appreication for the accoustic design at funneling noise onto the field level. I don't fault the OL at all for the false starts, miscommunication, etc....for this game. A second-year LT, a day-3 LG and journeymen at RG equates to a real challenging situation in the trenches. The tackles also have a hard time hearing since they are the farthest ones away from the QB/C exchange. We've stumbled hard out of the gates, our offensive schemes look like a JV team and we have no running game due to injuries on our OL. I think people will be singning a different song later in the year when Corbett is back, BY has some more games under his belt, and the offense finds their groove. Not having Corbett and BC is really, truly magnifying our weaknesses.
  10. This. I find it really odd that Reich + Caldwell + Brown + Duce + McCown equates to this JV looking offense. It ain't Bryce that's the problem....these position players are not running good routes, sloppy technique, awful spacing and zero separation. Bryce is putting the ball on the money more often than not. These guys aren't getting to their spots and the OL is crumbling quickly. TBF, 9 hasn't been perfect and made hella rookie mistakes, but he is not the issue with this offense. Lots of positives that will only improve with reps, better WRs and a healthy OL.
  11. What's the usual timeline for hammys for either end of the spectrum? Tightness/pulled vs. off the bone?
  12. BY looked like a rookie in his first game. This offense is very technical and requires hitting on all cylinders. It's pace, rhythm, misdirection, lots of substitutions looking for mismatches, balancing run/pass and taking your shots sporadically. Folks can say that the offense today looked like the preseason, but I didn't notice that. 5 and 81 especially showing out which I don't recall. Part of keeping the playcalling under wraps all offseason means that we might not hit our stride game 1. Pretty ludicrous to think it would. Bryce just missed Mingo on that bomb, just missed a few other throws that only come with reps, chemistry and tape sessions. Young is a brilliant mind and will make the adjustments. I wasn't happy with the outcome today, but see an offense that will take time to fully open up. We def need Chark to figure out how to stay healthy. His lack of presence on O does change the formula for opposing defenses. Miles did look a step or two slower and they had him on a pitch count for sure. If we get Horn back, sign Burns and let Hill take over the slot, we will be in good shape. The NT position concerns me but we knew that coming in. Maybe we call Detroit to see if Buggs is available? Is Wormley a NT or DE?
  13. Jesus, one game into a rookie's career on the road with a brand new coaching staff, personnel and injured deep threat. Not to make excuses because they did themselves in with three turnovers and too many penalties, but some of you guys need to step off the ledge.
  14. I'd love to bring Tee back to the Carolinas and give BY a true WR1 at 25 years old in year two of his career. Higgins/Mingo would be nasty and curious if CIN can pay Higgins after just giving Burrow his due $$ and Chase on the horizon. In looking at cap space next offseason, am I reading this incorrectly? Looks like we don't have as much as we thought or would there be some tweaking to open up more space? I thought '24 was when we had an insane amount of dough available... That dead cap is pretty crazy to see on paper.
  15. Can Kunkel please cover the Houston sports area and leave the 704 alone. He was spittin' speculation a couple of days ago and now trying to break news that pisses into his previous reports. Same with this assclown - "No suprise"....hahaha. Joe's been peppering pressers all week and using words like "murky" to describe the likelihood that he plays. Poor choice of words. Everything comes in threes, so I'm assuming Newton will slide in soon by calling our QB Vince or Steve or something along those lines. /endrant.
  16. Figure it will get done today so he can be fully under contract tomorrow. Friday is usually the big day each week for transactions, injuries, etc. leading up to that week's game. Get it done tonight, no distractions tomorrow, and get the dub Sunday. It's baffling that this franchise has an opportunity to sweep the stench of the past few years away with Rhule and yet, here we are, not paying our best defensive player....at a position that gets paid. You don't turn down the draft haul less than a year ago and have a staff with veteran NFL minds like Reich, Capers and Caldwell that understand the bizz to not get this hammered out. You've got the cap space in '23 and even more down the line.....Get it done. You're making the franchise look like it's been perceived the past 5-10 years....unprofessional.
  17. Steeler fans on some boards and YT speak highly of him, pre-injury. I keep seeing/hearing that he is fundamentally sound, dependable and a vet with production. He won't wow you with flare, but a rotational guy at worst. Vet that has lived in the 3-4 mold in Pittsburgh and Baltimore. We could do much worse at this point in the offseason.
  18. I was thinking the same thing watching the game. Announcers spoke highly of it and the zoomed in camera work made it look like real grass. Our turf looks like the worst possible version of artificial grass. It reminds me of Lumen Field and seeing places like LA and now Tennessee makes me wonder why our loaded owner that won't go to grass, won't pony up for the "best of the best".
  19. I hope the plan is for Zavala to get some reps and cut his NFL teeth at RG until Corbett is back. Then, move over to his former running mate and secure Bryce's blindside. Feel like the chemistry between Zavala and Ickey can only help Ickey, long-term too to have a familar face beside him. I'd prefer BC to be a swing guy or rotate in.
  20. Over/Under on total threads started for over/under reacting this pre-season?
  21. If you want to be peeved over the OL woes, by all means, it's an issue. The one area that we thought was safe and secure has looked awful thus far. Campen not being a new coach and most of the OL intact only makes it stand out more. Outside of that, I'm not concerned. 90% new staff, several veteran coaches combined with young, aspiring coaches, a completely overhauled starting offensive personnel group, transitioning from a 43 to a 34 base, lots of new faces on both sides of the ball and a rookie QB at the helm. Yes, we've looked bad through two games, but there needs to be a bit more patience. Especially when a veteran HC says they've purposely run a stripped down version of their gameplan so far. Nothing wrong with being concerned, but some folks need to step off the ledge. I also think some fans thought we were going to walk out there and win the NFCS without any adversity or challenges early on. Manage expectations folks. Rome wasn't built in a day and we overturned the dumpster fire that Rhule left behind quite a bit so far. It's going to take at least another offseason to wash that stink off, get Bryce the weapons and protection he needs and give Burns and Brown some support up front.
