IDK get this logic, and maybe it's just me not having enough caffeine kick in, so my apologies in advance, WhoKnows. Kmet was drafted in 2020 and Tremble in 2021. Though Kmet has been in the league a year longer, he has more than doubled receptions/yards and doubled TD production in only 17 less games. If Tremble played in 2020, I don't see him going for 176-1908-10TD to bring him in line with Kmet. They are in different TE tiers, for sure. Kmet would be Bryce's new Thielen. I would argue Kmet is not elite but he would be the best TE we've had since Greg.

Never really knew what he brought to the table other than a legacy Panthers figurehead. Had high hopes for Caldwell, and maybe he has more of an impact than we know, but unsure his role. See also: Idzik, Brad. What are these guys doing to make this team better? Thanks for your work in the '90s, Dom. Apologies that your last years in the league will be in Cleveland.

Mike Kaye: LB Devin Lloyd could be a realistic possibility
Soul Rebel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I REALLY like Dean but curious how he fits here with current personnel and scheme. He screams a Dan Morgan type of leader for the defense and is everything you want in a leader of the defense. 5'11" isn't ideal but Bolton is also an undersized backer that is very important to that KC defense. -

Big fish signing, but I'm all for it. He is my #1 FA priority and hope he is in Process Blue next year. -
This is a good way of thinking. IF Linderbaum is available, I think you could justify swapping out Icky's extension money here and figure out LT & RT for the future. Icky ain't playing in '26 and if he does, it will not be indicitive of a big pay day. If he wants that, he will have to look elsewhere considering he only really stepped up his play this past year. I do see a world where Linderbaum is our center of the future, Tillis kicks Tyler's "big money" down the road a year to when he can finegle the futures of Lewis, Hunt and Moton. We solidify the middle (a problem we've had since Kalil left) with a 26-year old center, and spend the next two offseasons finding a couple of tackles and one guard replacement. I'm thinking Lewis stays at LG and Hunt is a post-6/1 cut in 2027. Hunt: $5.3M in dead cap for '27 & '28, but frees up $19M in 2027. Moton $7M in dead cap for '27 and '28, but opens up $21.5M in 2027. There's $40M in cap space with the release of Hunt and Moton. $20M for Linderbaum, $10M in dead money (Moton accounts for $28M alone in 2027) This still leaves $10M to play with next offseason.

Hill is not the Dolphins WR I'd target. Jaylen Waddle on the other hand.... maybe. His final two years remaining are wildly high north of $30M, but maybe Tillis can tweak it a bit. MIA could be in firesale mode and maybe XL + 3rd or 4th for Waddle? Chubb is interesting on a short deal. He hits 30 before the year starts, but could have a solid few years left in Evero's system.

This image is actually from the 2012 offseason when he re-upped.

BREAKING: Panthers adding to coaching staff
Soul Rebel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Knowing that many Panthers fans are confused to his role here, I wonder if he goes back to Stanford or WF in some capacity. Seems more his speed than the NFL. -
Wouldn't be mad about it. I do hope we spend a day 3 pick on a QB and the ceiling is higher than Plummer.

BREAKING: Panthers adding to coaching staff

That's the first thing I think of when I see Bevell's name.....kinda like Chris Webber and timeouts. I thought he was a decent OC previously and he was up for the Jets OC. Seeing who they went with instead of Bevell is concerning. He, Dave and Dan go way back to Seattle days so there's alignment there, as we know this franchise embodies. Looking back at Idzik, I do wonder if maybe 2026 is a year where he maybe transitions out from under Dave's wing. I thought they went farther back than 2019. Not that seven years is nothing in coaching, but maybe Dan and Dave want Bevell or someone with more expreience at Dave's side as we begin to make our move from cellar dwellers to NFC royalty. -
KT is a guy to keep an eye on in NY. Burns/Carter are nasty and if the Giants can gain some assets for Thibs, I think he could be a name on the move. Main reason I'd stay away is his looming FA in '27. We'd give up some important draft capital and then have to pay him...while also wondering if he can get back to his first two years rather than his previous two. I also could see Harbaugh wanting to roll three deep with his pressure rotations and just hang on to him. I question Schoen's ability to correctly navigate the waters, especially when he dodged getting canned this year.

True story.

TBF, the Hawks were at +6500 this time last year, and the Pats at +14000, so......

I was disappointed last year when DDS returned because he had first round written all over him. Odd to see that everyone returned and will end up worse off than had they come out. Allar being one of them. Some saw him as a late first last year and QB1 coming into this year. Wild.

Big Splash: Lloyd Other FAs: Mafe, Otton, Nailor, Mariota Our FAs: Nijman, Christiansen, Curhan, Simmons, Martin, JJ

Well done, MHS. I'm out in Seahawk country and they've been a fun team to watch. Hired their coach the same year as us, but went defensive minded. Fumbled the OC in year 1 but came back with a helluva hire this past year. I basically want us to find our versions of Ernest Jones IV, Byron Murphy II and Emmanwori. DB is our Leonard Williams, but he needs a partner. I think Lloyd in FA can be our Jones and I don't know where to begin with Emmanwori as he and Hamilton are 1 of 1. I also like the way they use a lot of 13 personnel and just grind teams into the ground on both sides of the ball. Give me Otton to add to our TE room who I'd have to think Canales and Idzik have an eye for. Center and OT are our biggest question marks. I think R1 is OT and grab the best center on day 2.

Nice to see an amazing former receiver offer to take on two youngsters on the brink of WR Siberia. By the same token, I'm also at my limit of the offseason IG reels of these guys stopping/stuttering and shifting against air making me think that this equates to success. At least XL is making an effort....let's see where it goes.

David Newton's Panthers Free Agency Preview Dancy Party
Soul Rebel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know there's not a lot in the FA pool, but these guys give me Kalil/Erving vibes. I guess beggars can't be choosers.....IDK. -
I do like that NO is probably going RB. I don't know of too many mocks that don't have Love in black and gold. Atlanta will have to buy their way back into R1. The Bucs seem to need what we need, so I am nervous they end up with Styles, or if Downs falls, they swoop in.

Dream draft selection. Likelihood of it happening.....not so much. PFF is always w/ a grain of salt since they're so metrics-focused.

McDonald would be interesting. Looks like a guy suited for an odd front defense and would equate to a bit more of DB as the 4T but obviously would shift inside in a 4-3 or 4-2-5 look. I'll be interested to see where the cluster of DTs sort out post-combine/pro-days. I think any of Woods/McDonald/Banks would help our D out immensely. Just depends on your cup of tea....or Evero's I suppose. I'd lean Banks given his size and length...it screams 34 NT, but Woods looks like the most well-rounded.
