Anything other than stats is just an opinion and is probably flawed. That being said, its clear the team (with one or two exceptions) has given up and is already thinking about the offseason.

Official Buccaneers at Panthers GameDay Thread

I think tanking for draft picks rarely (if ever) works. But if we can get blown out these last three games, that might convince Tepper that hiring a college coach was stupid and he needs to correct it. So tank to get rid of Rhule. -

We look like our coaching staff is a bunch of college guys. -
Quarterback is far and away the most valuable position on the field. If we think that Pickett, or anyone else is going to be a solid quarterback, then we take him. Period, end of discussion. Then we sit him for a year, throw Darnold out there (or whomever else we sign), rebuild the oline, and maybe spend most of our picks the following year on the Oline. As far as the comments about this year's class not being that strong, there is no way to know that until they start playing on Sunday. But I definitely don't want Rhule doing the assessments on the QB. He has to many failures in that regard.

Like Urban Meyer? I would never hire a college coach to begin with, unless he had significant NFL experience. But if I did, national championships would not be a requirement. Winning a National Championship in college is as much or perhaps more about the program you are coaching as it is about your abilities as a coach. One can be the greatest coach in the history of football but not win a national championship at Duke. Or be a below average NFL coach, but win multiple championships at Alabama.

There may be some truth to this, but I don't think you can blame the fans for some of the head scratching moves. Cutting Cam, signing Bridgewater, trading Bridgewater, then trading for Darnold, only to bring Cam back, trading draft picks and Arnold for Henderson, etc... I think that fans would have been far more understanding if they had truly went for a rebuild, instead of this odd mix of building for a future while trying to win now.

And Rex Grossman.

College games are being cancelled at an increasing pace. Louisville/Ky and Wake Forest/BC are cancelled. I think BC will have to forfeit. FSU and Syracuse both list games as postponed. Hopefully, this is just a temporary anomaly and not a harbinger of things to come.

If I had a dollar for every time I have heard similar words about an NFL quarterback, I would probably be a rich man. Just about any NFL level quarterback can look good for a short time. Sam Darnold looked good for a short time. Even in Darnold's first season with the Jets, there were times people would say, if he can just clean up the turnovers, he is going to be great. A few do clean it up, most do not. If he can get to the point were he can look good consistently, and bad games become a rare thing, then he is a franchise qb. Until that time though, he is just another guy with potential. That is also true for Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, and Mack Jones.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Probably won't know for at least two more seasons. Right now, all they know is he turns the ball over a lot.

I would say let Darnold play, draft someone and let him hold a clipboard for a year, ala Mahomes. Or cut Darnold, sign Cam, and let him play while we draft someone and let him hold a clipboard for a year, just as Mahomes did.
-
In my opinion, when Rhule traded for Darnold, and was unwilling to draft either Fields or Jones, he essentially bet his future on a guy who had failed in NY. Darnold succeeding here was a longshot and a huge gamble on Rhule's part. A gamble he lost. Signing Cam was a move that had little chance of paying off, but it was low risk, so why not. But he has failed as well, and due to those failures, Rhule should be looking for another job after the season is over. Hopefully Tepper learned his lesson and hires an NFL coach. Preferably one who puts a staff in place to develop the qb that we should be drafting. It will be interesting to see if the new staff (and god I hope there is a new staff) signs Cam for another year to work in a new QB, or lets Darnold go out there and get beat up while the new guy holds a clipboard and they try to make the oline better.
-
Any? Trevor Siemian sure ain't succeeding.
-
All the receivers played well today. They just didn't get many opportunities.
-
The sad thing is that if we had even average play on the offensive side of the ball, we would have a decent shot at the division this year. Tampa has looked vulnerable the last few weeks, and with their receivers possibly out, we could beat them with a decent effort from the offense.
-
Well, it just got a little more likely. Brady picked off.
-
Wonder when Brady was last shut out. I don't think it will happen, especially when they get to four down territory, but its getting very close.

Why have a punter that can't do poo else?

Sad but true.
