  1. Dude I don't even watch college football except for to watch prospects. I have no allegiences what so ever to any program. I was just pointing out that they gave Ojulari the number points to him being a high character, hard working guy. The Brian Kelly poo is irrelevant to the comparison of two prospects. How many players have we seen that have all the tools and traits fail in the NFL because they don't have the mental makeup for it? Literally countless. And stats are nice, but context matters too.
  2. Ojulari plays in the SEC Johnson plays in the PAC12 Ojulari is 21 Johnson is 24, will turn 25 in his first season (how old Burns is right now) Ojulari was a leader on his side of the ball and awarded LSU's No. 18 which is only given to standout guys that exemplify what it means to be a LSU tiger Johnson was caught on video sucker punching a fan Ojulari posted a 7.44 3 cone with a hamstring injury Johnson posted a healthy 7.33 They're not even close to the same level of prospect.
  3. 1. I'm hugely biased obviously 2. I know jack poo about football While I think going for Ojulari in the 2nd and a guy like Tyler Scott later on would have been more balanced of a draft, but the more I think on the Mingo pick the more I love it. Mingo has all the tools to become an X. Some people say his value is inflated by a smaller WR class, and while that may be true, I also think he has a ton of untapped potential due to the circumstances of his college career; He had a possible breakout junior season cut short by injury, and by the time he was healthy. QB play at Ole Miss dropped off drastically. He's big dude and he plays like it (looking at you Funchess). He shows attention to detail to route running, but still has a lot of room for improvement. He might not have the 3rd gear that burner type WRs have, but he's fast and moves very well for his size. Not to mention he's a good blocker and is a DAWG that's put some real big boy catches on tape- like one handed catch in traffic type of poo. It's been a while since we've had that kind of mentality and physicality at the position. He's great at the catch point, is a natural hands catcher with massive hands, and hard as poo to bring down with great YAC ability, which brings me to my next point. I think is the perfect kind of guy to pair up with Bryce. While Bryce's deep ball isn't bad, it's not known to be a strength of his. Bryce, as we all know, has often been referred to having a "Point Guard" style of play - quick reads and decision making, with the ability to distribute balls to playmakers quickly all over the field, but the dude isn't going to arm-rifle something into a tight window 30 yards down field. For that "pointguard" style, having a guy like Mingo that's both a huge YAC threat but also a big bodied guy that attacks contested balls with his hands is invaluable. He's lethal when in stride and I think he's gonna have a lot more opportunities to catch a ball in stride with a guy like Bryce. I think our FO thinks a QB like Bryce will bring out the best in Mingo while he continues polishing his route running - Bryce is the kind of dude that's always gonna give the WR a chance on the ball and I think that'll really help a guy like Mingo while he continues to develop. I do think he has the highest ceiling in this class of any WR except maybe Zay Flowers. Ojulari in the 2nd and a WR later on would have been, value wise, "better" - but I do like that we're getting aggressive on the offensive side of the ball for once. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
  4. Dude has a ton of potential. Plus he has a cool ass name. I'm happy with it.
  5. I could see Torrence and Drew Sanders being possibilities as well.
  6. He’s not physical and doesn’t do well when having to contest for a catch, and while his speed is his greatest asset, he also takes some time to accelerate and get up to that speed. And most of all, to me at least - So, so many of his big plays are where he’s WIDE open and not a defender within 5 yards, not because he’s some ridiculous route runner but because he gets essentially free releases so often because of the scheme they run in Tennessee. I think he’ll have a really hard time against physical corners. He just makes me think of guys like Mecole Hardman and Ted Ginn - he’s a threat to take the top off, but that’s really it
  7. Would gladly take him over Hyatt. Agree to disagree.
  8. Of those three give me Torrence and protect Bryce. If we pick a WR, I hope we take one later like Scott/Mingo/Mims or AT Perry. Not crazy about Hyatt. Dudes a burner but takes a bit to get up to speed and lacks physicality/contested catch ability.
  9. Would be ecstatic with any of the following. would be happiest w a Sanders/Ojulari or OL to help keep up front stout for Bryce. EDGE BJ Ojulari Drew Sanders Keion White Derick Hall CB Kelee Ringo DJ Turner Joey Porter Jr Cam Smith WR Josh Downs Jalin Hyatt Jonathan Mingo OL O’Cyrus Torrence Steve Avila John Michael Schmitz TE Darnell Washington Luke Musgrave Sam LaPorta Michael Mayer
  10. Everybody went to Bryce’s birthday party.
  11. He plays for Boston dude. Guess how many yards Steve Smith had his final year at Utah? 743. I would argue the comparison is actually pretty spot on. Look at their combine profiles - they're basically the same size and have very similar combine profiles. Zay's 5'9 but plays way bigger than he is. The guys an absolute dog and flashes elite route running ability. I think Baltimore got a good one.
  12. zay flowers is going to be a fuging stud. was kinda hoping we'd trade up for him.
  13. Are you kidding? Mac had one of the most stacked Alabama offenses. He had DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, Najee Harris, John Metchie, and was behind a way better line that had Evan Neal, Landon Dickerson, and Alex Leatherwood. While leatherwood has been trending bust, not one of Young’s linemen is going to be an early day pick. Literally the only other person on Alabama 2022 offense that’s going to go early is Gibbs. Bryce lost all the best weapons on his team from 21 to 22 and still carried his team, put up numbers, and came in clutch. Mac was throwing to multiple first round receivers behind multiple first round offensive linemen. Cmon man.
  14. First Round: Pick 1: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama Second Round: Pick 39: BJ Ojulari, EDGE, LSU Third Round: Pick 93: Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss Fourth Round: Pick 114: Kyu Blu Kelly, CB, Stanford Fourth Round: Pick 132: Andrew Vorhees, OL, USC Fifth Round: Pick 145: Cameron Latu, TE, Alabama
  15. You could absolutely tell he knew he misspoke too lol. Good catch edit* ok you can’t really tell that at all my bad. it’s probably just the devils lettuce. I’m celebrating early
  16. Just saw this interview that looks like happened just earlier today. Scott is asked what he likes about each of the top 4, and he lights up so much when he starts talking about Bryce compared to the others; he talks about what he "likes" about the others, but what he "loves" about Bryce. Think it's about as obvious as it can be at this point without outright just announcing the pick.
  17. That’s now Cam and Smitty, two of the greatest panthers of all time, on the board for Bryce. gonna be a lot of upset stroud and AR fans tomorrow (and the one or two Levi’s fans, wherever they are) I for one could not be more excited for Bryce to usher in a new era of panthers football.
  18. At this point I’m not sure if I’m more excited for the pick to be announced or the ensuing nuclear meltdown rippadon is gonna have when it’s Young lmao.
  19. Lol dude, your dislike of Bryce almost feels personal, honestly a little weird. I’ll be happy with any of Bryce/Stroud/AR and will cheer them on trust the staff regardless. But man, if we pick Bryce and he goes on to have a successful career, you better be ready to eat that crow.
  20. Ah yes, now that I think about it, I’m just now remembering all your threads the last two years begging for everyone to think of the safety of PJ Walker. Thank god you weren’t in the war room in 01 or Smitty would have never donned the black and blue.
  21. Only delusion I’m seeing here is your irrational hatred for Bryce. the “eye test” isn’t about size and never has been. Bryce absolutely passes the “eye test” with flaming colors, He’s just undersized. If you were to hide Bryce from the all 22, you’d have absolutely no idea he is the size he is, because the dude balls. But ultimately size, eye test, etc. doesn’t mean poo if you don’t have the intangibles for the position see: Jamarcus Russell Ryan Mallett Malik Willis Josh Rosen Sam Darnold Zach Wilson Ryan Leaf i actually do like AR and Stroud as well and honestly would not be upset with any of them, but “looking the part” is far from everything. Especially from a position as mentally demanding as QB.
