  1. I’d prefer someone that can take the top off the defense to open up everything else
  2. Yeah I don’t get the problem if you trade a pick for a good player..when what you’re trying to do in the draft is use the pick to draft a good player. Were people pissed when we traded the 3rd rder for Olsen?
  3. Hell yeah.. I think a very overlooked part is our coaching staff vs the Saints. Dennis Allen has always looked like shitake as a head coach. Dude looks like a total prick.
  4. I like idea of a vet TE with a rookie QB….wouldn’t have minded Schultz until I saw those 2 huge mental errors at the end of Dallas’ playoff game. Might be putting too much on that but football IQ especially in big moments matters. I haven’t watched Gesicke much at all but maybe he’d make an Olsen-ish jump for us
  5. Right…they’re not doing all this to finally get a QB and not surround him with weapons
  6. Folks are off their meds tonight. I love DJ but much easier to find a WR then a QB or an edge runner. We gave up 1 first rder to get the first pick in the draft. Of course you have to give up something to get something
  7. There was no reason to get hyped over 80% of Rhule’s staff ha
  8. Makes it kinda hard to negotiate when the guy with the sayso is telling you to make it happen.
  9. Cam tore his shoulder tackling a guy after a pick. Was never the same after that. The tj watt hit was the icing on the cake. Folks that actually watched the games saw exactly what happened and when.
  10. Sounds about right…if we go rookie QB I hope they go get a vet TE. I’ve never looked at the stats for it but it seems like rookie TEs are slower to make an impact and I remember how shockey and Olsen helped rookie Cam. Not one of the higher cost FA positions either
  11. The over/wrong use of the word literally could not be illustrated better It’s probably more likely that good defenses can commit enough guys to stop the run AND defend against the 150 yds Darnold is attacking you with through the air
  12. Right…I mean look how easy it’s been for us to replace our franchise QB…they grow on trees ha. It usually sets any franchise back. I don’t see how he could be blamed for that. Teams were poaching people from his staff so that says something..Buffalo’s the last team to poach any of our coaches his last 3 QBs were retreads, hopefully he’s seen enough of that
  13. Also means he’ll know and have relationships with possible assistant coaches on good teams, from good coaching trees when it comes to staff hires
  14. Right..great coaching tree he’s gotten to learn from and just the eye test of watching the giants offense
  15. I know folks are impatient but I’d like to see them at least interview Kafka
  16. I’m just curious on what folks think they should/ could have done to tank…players aren’t just going to pitch the ball on the ground. We traded our best player and had a circus of bad to barely ok at QB. It’s not like they brought in free agents or anything. The only way to keep losing at that clip was to not fire Rhule and that mofo needed to get his stink out of the building. If we’d traded burns maybe that costs a couple more wins but our division was historically bad. Just think it’s fantasy to think a coach and staff that know their most likely out of here aren’t going to try and show they’re better than they looked under the hamburglar. Players too…what you gonna do “hey guys half ass it and lay the ball on the ground every chance you get and make sure you never get another shot on a roster”. Just not realistic. We have a lot of good pieces on the roster. The right coach can figure out how to use them and what pieces we need to add. “But we don’t have a top 3 pick” is not a valid excuse at all.
  17. Never said they were the same thing. This is all way early speculation , hearsay and agents and teams doing their leverage dance. The results of giving head coaches full control speak for themselves so I’d be leery of that personally but obviously no argument that Payton or harbaugh are different stratosphere than the POS 3000 in Nebraska
  18. Tepper could be really hesitant to give the kind of control Harbaugh likely wants to someone again after making that mistake with Fhule. Or maybe I’m just too optimistic he can learn from/admit mistakes ha
  19. Right…but similar situation to Adam Gase, they both worked with hall of fame QBs…I’d be wary of that. Steichen’s working with Hurts(who had a Josh Allenish type development) and Johnson with Goff has had Detroit’s offense going. Both are pretty impressive feats
  20. Head coaches generally manage their own staff. It’s not coincidence that once Rhule and his guys were out the team looks night and day different. Mcadoo still sucks but what offensive coordinator with a better resume wanted to work for Rhule? Who wanted to be Joe Brady 2? Nobody. Fitterer’s hands were tied til Fhule was gone. He was a brand new gm walking in with a head coach with a contract giving him roster sayso…that includes coaching staff.
  21. Was Daniel Jones a top ten QB before Daboll got there? Saquan’s much better all of the sudden too. A lot of the key players are the same ones that did squat before. Just saying the right coach can turn us around quickly too
  22. Right on …Daboll’s turned the Giants around immediately without any big roster changes etc. Just gotta get the Head Coach hire right this time
  23. Roquan Smith from Chicago? Ha I know he’ll get paid and it’s a lot more efficient to find our own guy in the draft. I really don’t watch the bears but what little I do see that guy looks good
