  1. Respect this approach but I personally love the sky is falling, arm chair GM, bitch squad. Sure the intelligent discussion is great, but the entertainment from that group makes me chuckle.
  2. Will it heal faster because it was during actual game play vs. a drill? Asking for a friend.
  3. I think they are using joint practices with colts and ravens as the starter preseason reps only difference is it isn’t on TV?
  4. You don’t understand. Yesterday was a “must win” practice.
  5. BR lurking around the camp for a half day and getting feedback from Newton is not real TC coverage. Noticed it wasn’t even a full direct quote from the often flawed Newton. It may be a situationally accurate statement but not sure that it is representative of Darnolds camp performance in totality.
  6. First week of regular season usually has teams playing down to their opponent (strictly my anecdotal opinion). I think you have to look at it as the most important game because it’s the next game. Not because it’s the first game and the NY J is the opponent. If a player or coach sees week 1 of a 17 game schedule as a “must win” they might want to look at another profession.
  7. If you recall I think it took Charles Johnson about 3 years to come into his own. I think being upset at this point might be premature unless he is not used consistently in the rotation. Based on what he showed last year he will be on the field plenty.
  8. Only thing I would add is maybe in game 2 bring him out for a series to start the 3rd quarter.
  9. It’s the fruition of the “positionless” football player Rhule wants. If Tremble can catch, block and run it gives the offense more wrinkles. Probably not going to get many calls as a fullback but if it’s something Brady /Rhule can pull off here and there the opposition has to plan for it..
  10. No, there are other ways to win. Worst case this guy is a serial predator that plays football really well. Best case he is creepy and plays football really well. I think the truth is somewhere in between but who knows. Not a lot of easy calculus for the front office and probably less straightforward than an A,B,C poll.
  11. I thought this place already was a train wreck. One of the main reasons I drop in is for a daily dose of crazy.
  12. Thinking this through a bit. Two likely scenarios come to mind. Scenario 1 Jets Darnold and Panthers Darnold are identical. If this is the case we go into December with 4 or 5 wins and a couple fried huddle servers. Lucky for Igo, he can pick up replacements during Black Friday sale. We get Rivers, put on our rally caps and hope to sneak into playoffs. But we don’t. The team seems ruderless but manages to get another win or two. Rivers goes back to AL to for winter/spring HS football workouts. Then we get to spend the whole off-season whining about not tanking for the next great QB we won’t be drafting. Scenario 2 Panthers Darnold plays admirably but gets injured late in the season. We bring Rivers in and make or just barely miss the playoffs. Huddle server gets fried in December, Igo misses Black Friday sale and pays full price. Rivers goes back to AL to for winter/spring HS football workouts. Then we get to spend the whole off-season whining about not tanking for the next great QB we won’t be drafting.
  13. This covers everything but the long snapper competition (edge of your seat drama I’m sure) and what the team ate for lunch. Thanks for such a great write up. This is much better information than I would have gotten had I went and observed for myself.
  14. I think you are correct. I forgot about that one. The Bell experiment was a bad one. In his defense, he was an UDFA and should not have been in that position. Organizational failure
  15. I have seen limited action but from my small sample size he looks confident, which is a good sign. I don’t think the staff I coddling him but they are providing support and have surrounded him with a lot of talent. I think mentally that is good for a QB that has been traumatized for his entire pro career. Will be more telling when the pads go on but no reason to not be optimistic. Maybe not all pro but he should be a much improved QB
  16. Key stretch here. The slot machines have better odds. Also, to comeback you would have had to been there before.
  17. I just think it’s refreshing that we know of, and can see a legitimate experiment that has a chance of working. The last time something like this was done they went high school and had a DT convert to OL. While I give them kudos for looking, that one was highly unlikely. This seems to have a legitimate chance at improving the overall line situation.
  18. I don’t really blame Wilson for doing this. Jets are a complete dysfunction and this is the only “control” he will have for the next 5 years and possibly ever in terms of professional football.
  19. Solid list. I would love to bump this thread in October and have another OL to consider.
  20. Interesting. Is it because he favors them or a product of Jet offense dysfunction? Maybe a bit of both but we will find out soon.
  21. Respectfully disagree with this post. I think half the members just took your post as a challenge. If everything is rainbows and unicorns I truly expect threads bashing Darnold on how he laces his cleats.
