  1. Today, besides playing in the cold rain, the Panthers were playing against probably the #1 seed in the NFC. The Seahawks are a really good team. I don't think it's as much Bryce as it's Canales trying to find a rhythm. Ex; a good DJ and a great DJ are separated from reading the room and adapting to it and playing to right sequence of songs (we all play mostly the same songs). In football, it's adapting "quicker" to what the defense is doing and getting into a good sequence of play calling that keeps them off balance and guessing. I don't think we've seen that. We can blame the players but scheme them open or play more to their strengthens. Then factor in what I just said and the lack of ability and natural talent, it hinders Bryce at times. Sometimes a dance floor will be packed no matter the DJ (as long as he doesn't really screw it up). Bryce can have some good games because of what the defense is playing or lack of talent. Today we saw the right defense calls with a talented team and our OC/HC struggling to adapt and find a rhythm.
  2. Do we want anybody particular? I know if we beat Seattle and the Bucs lose this week, we're in (which would give us a week to rest some guys and get Hunt back).
  3. His 1st pick last year was XL, even moved up to get him. But so far so good overall. Hope it continues.
  4. So you don't feel when you are down by a few points at the ends of the game and the Panthers have the ball, he will drive the team down the field and score? He's done that with most of his wins. If that's his best over achieving quality and otherwise he's just a good game manager, I'll take it. Super stars like Mahomes, Jackson and Allen (all league MVPs) are not that common. And Allen and Jackson haven't won anything yet. I'll keep saying it. The Panthers will give him the starting job next year easily and if he continues to improve or what we all want to be a consistent winner, he gets his contract. If he doesn't, he gets his 5th year picked up (start of 2026) and they'll draft or sign someone to compete. But every week most fans love him, then hate him, etc. At least you consistently have doubted him, I'll give you that. But he has some good qualities late in the game. As good as Arnold has been, do you think we would have handled the benching last year the same?
  5. It's because there is no pressure to win, nobody expects it, so they play loose.
  6. Young is going to be here 5 years, like it or not. Def 2026. DC has a minimum another year or 2 before he could be fired. Like them or not, they have something going, just not consistent yet
  7. Small minded response. Of course he's not going to get bigger. But if he shows continuous progress it MIGHT take him another year or 2 to reach a top 10 or so QB. We invested too much into him and he is not a bust and actually has better stats than CJ for the last 17 games. H'es not a bust he just may not be a #1 draft pick worthy but most aren't.
  8. I will say this, we may need 2 more years to truly know. Some QBs take a few years to really settle in. Cam was an exception but he didn't put it really together until year 3 (but he had soooo much natural talent and size). The smarts are what keeps QBs around. Even Lamar Jackson with all that talent is starting to struggle. But Baker gets better and better. Even Sam Arnold turned his career around (not saying he's great). Bryce might need another year to start being the top 10 or so QB we need. And maybe not, but I wouldn't give up on him too soon, we paid too much. Because of that, he's gonna get at least 4 years of the 5 to see.
  9. In Denver (mile high) he might get 75 or more.
  10. The Browns might have drafted him (in the 5th) because if he shows he's got some game, that would be a good trade later on for a 2nd or 3rd in the future (I hope just not with the Panthers). If he won the job, even better but if not, maybe good value for a trade.
  11. Your thoughts? I don't think the trade up or even down value system stays exactly in place this year. Look at all the bad trades that hurt teams that give away too much (49ers for Lance, even us w/the Bears set us back). What trade up except Mahomes/KC was it really a great trade for the team giving up a lot? Same with trading down. Teams will know you don't want to pick and they won't be giving the store to move up because there is not a generational talent to do that for. Now, I believe these possibilities. The Giants probably won't take QB-Sanders at 3, it's too much pressure if it doesn't work. They don't really need another edge rusher with Carter. I can see them possibly saving face, trade down to even the Panthers at 8 but not asking for a kings ransom. A 1st round swap, a 3rd and 4th and maybe next years 2nd and 4th could be enough without giving up too much. The Giants save in pay and in public opinion and then they can take Sanders or even another QB. For the Panthers to drop down, it has to mean their top 3 picks are not there. Do they take TE-Warren if he drops in their lap at 8 (I do like that)? I believe they would love to drop back but again I don't think teams will pay a lot to move up unless they want a QB before the Saints (our only hope for a good value). I'm not picking a player, just thinking of the draft in general and value. Reaching doesn't work and more and more teams are realizing that.
  12. I think it's a possibility of them moving to #3 with the Giants for Carter because.. The Giants can't take Sanders at 3, it's too high (and too much pressure). Get a 3rd and 4th round and maybe a next year 2nd (not too steep) and they save face and get their man and we get ours. If the price is too much, Morgan won't do it. It's the same for us. We wouldn't mind moving back a couple of spaces but teams won't give up too much. If our top 3 picks are gone at 8, people might not give us a ton to move, but we may get something and still get a good player at 12-15 or so. I don't think teams will over pay to move up this year, so the next best thing is get what you can and still get a decent pick.
  13. Exactly what I was going to post (1st paragraph) after reading through some posts. We are probably picking 8th, hope we get it right.
  14. I think it has more to do with the type of player and fitting the system. Morgan is looking for certain type players. Players that love the game, not just good at playing football. Players who put team maybe before personal goals. Let's hope that's what's going on. With the way Canales is a players coach, but has proven already (with Bryce) to make the tough call when needed for the team, maybe he just needs the right players. Team chemistry will beat a few really talented players every time.
  15. One more WR and a TE and with our O-line and Bryce improving, we could have a solid year (maybe 8-9 wins) and battle for a playoff spot. A good O-line makes any QB/offense look good.
