  1. The situation was as ideal as you could get for any QB. Elite players everywhere and a scheme that knew how to take advantage of the innate advantage they already had. That's not a knock on CJ, he did everything the way it should and could have been done. He didn't have to really create any opportunities because they were all created for him in the most ideal way. Young had to constantly create opportunities from a less than ideal situation. Very good Russell Wilson like in that way. And then you throw in everything he's said to know and understand about the game...very Brees-like. The guys potential is just through the roof and he's incredibly likely to hit that potential because of how his brain works and the staff/situation he's walking into.
  2. You live in fear you'll never go anywhere.
  3. Like I said before, I don't think you came to this looking for honest discussion. You were looking for this pissing match. I mean the way you started the thread didn't leave much room for any other outcome.
  4. Lol this worked out the way you knew and hoped it would.
  5. If it wasn't this coaching staff making the call, I'd probably be a bit skeptical. I just feel like these guys know their poo.
  6. That's been his go to schtick for years. He can be good, but he keeps going back to that. He likes to troll, poke bears, them jump back and say "Whoah! Where's all this hostility coming from?"
  7. We only need one to work and we've got our eyes set on the right one. I think this class is really good, but Houston needs help everywhere ave they've got a lot of picks. They can come back at 12 and still get their franchise guy.
  8. Agreed. They started out with an idea that they didn't think highly of this class and put in data that would fit whatever narrative they wanted to roll with.
  9. The thing is they like AR a lot and if we hadn't traded up to #1, AR would most likely have been the pick. They just see and value Young's whole package as better and more ready for the pro game..less risky...than AR.
  10. https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/platform/amp/2023/4/23/23694736/eagles-news-derrick-henry-trade-philly-wont-be-happening-running-back-titans-nfl-rumors-rb Lol Derrick Henry isn't going to the Eagles.
  11. You didn't start this looking for discussion. You started this thread to push your opinion. And that's fine, but don't start acting like you're just some innocent guy trying to have a conversation. You're just here to instigate another pissing match.
  12. This is what I've been seeing and I'm sticking with it until proved otherwise.
  13. Gotcha. The thing is that for every example of a flaw, there's a lot more examples of the same situation where he does incredible in the moment.
  14. Yeah I'm not seeing this poo at all and neither are the majority of minds out there. Pretty lame comps.
  15. The thing is, at this point people already have their mind made up about one or the other. Your OP isn't coming from someone looking to learn. It's coming from a "show me why my preconceived perception about Young is wrong." But you've already made up your mind and can't see how you could be wrong that Stroud is a better QB option than Young.
  16. Oh I know he's got flaws, but he's got a whole lot more going for him and his ceiling gets me excited. I trust this coaching staff if they think he's the best QB we could get. They'll get the most out of him and I believe just because of the situation he's walking into he'll do better than the other options available.
  17. He's going to be the QB. Might as well start trying to find peace with this.
  18. He might still have some people he's tight with here and I'm sure they talk about it all. There's not much that's going on that involves or requires a lot of strategy in dealing with other teams so it doesn't really matter what stuff gets leaked about what is going on.
  19. From a couple places that in the past had some reliable knowledge, usually just with draft stuff. The crazy thing is it all but dried up with Rhule there and the only stuff I heard was blips about discontentment. Seems like doors are opened up again. Regardless, I won't give specific information I've heard (and there hasn't been much, tbh) but I feel comfortable backing up other things that have been said by a couple others. That @The Crown and the Claw has been on point with the stuff I've heard and he's said some things that I hadn't heard yet.
  20. i think they went into the pro day tour with the intention of having an open mind about all four, but there was already a contingent of people within the organization (not owners) who were sold on Young already. CJ was thought of highly and they liked him, but Young was the one (as i've found out over the past couple weeks, contrary to my impression was that they liked CJ the most) that they had in front pretty much the whole time. i think any discussion they had was, especially after the trade, "we think Young is the guy, but try and convince us otherwise" and they just couldn't do it. all signs kept pointing back to Young as the best QB prospect. They were comfortable, from what i've heard, with one other choice when they were sitting at 9, but when they got to #1 there was really only 1 guy they felt good at all about.
  21. Or they all liked him or grew to like him. Blame it in whatever you want, but really when all the smoke clears it's going to be clear that when they moved to #1, there was only one QB they were completely interested in. Before that there were two, but only one they thought they had a chance at. This was Young's gig the moment they moved to 1. They may have looked at and dug into abd were impressed by others, but Young has stayed at the forefront for the organization.
