  1. don't you know we're voting on it, which is why it is so important to convince everyone else that they are idiots if they don't agree and vote with me!!!!!!!!
  2. it seems like the big issue is Young's lack of bigness, but in every other facet it seems that Young is the better prospect and so the decision is whether or not Youngs many other boxes that he checks outweighs his lack of weight. it's looking like they are starting to come to the conclusion that he's big enough for the job. i've said for weeks, people in both camps need to get used to the idea that the guy they would rather not have will be the guy that we draft. find peace now. it's for your own good.
  3. if there is a difference in opinion as to who should be taken, then one side has to convince the other and both have to be open to being convinced otherwise.
  4. i think he's got a lot of say in the decision and that's probably part of it. i mostly believe it when Fitt said that he hasn't talked to Reich about who his choice is and that they are trying to keep that to themselves until closer to the draft, but i don't well either of them would do in their conversations at keeping their thoughts close to their chests. they have to know which way the other is leaning without saying. Fitt and the FO could be certain, but just to make sure they have the right guy could be waiting for Reich and his staff to confirm it or validate it further or poke significant holes. i do think that also that they have a certain amount of wiggle room in the decision having 2 fantastic choices to pick from in Young and Stroud that even if they changed their minds about "their guy" that they would still feel good about that move to #1 overall.
  5. i think all along they have an idea of who they want and are using the time available to decide if there is a better option or convince themselves that their choice is the right one.
  6. No. it's a needed distraction/break from the other stuff in life that i probably take too seriously. frees the brain a little bit and helps curb stress. none of this should ever cause stress. it's just not important enough and shouldn't be that important unless your livelihood depended on it.
  7. When you're picking that early, that needs to be the expectation. You start day one and earn your lumps.
  8. Here's the thing that is funniest about this whole fuggin Young vs Stroud debate... Why out do much energy into debating which is best? So when your guy isn't drafted you can go into mourning together? Stage a revolt on Mint St.? I mean why try to win everyone to one side or another? Is it a democracy? Are we voting on this? Fug it... they're going to pick who they pick and there's not a damn thing any of you can do to influence it. Just be happy that we've got a killer staff who knows more about offense than any collection of coaches we've ever had by people who know QBs better than anyone in here. Be happy that we've got the choice of them all and this crew is going to actually be picking them and not any dumb fugs in here (which is actually better than the previous coaching staff, but that's another story). Quit working yourself up so much and just sit back and enjoy the ride, dammit.
  9. The article said they are going to be developing helmets for other position groups too based on the types of impact they are likely to encounter.
  10. I didn't see where they took that into consideration, but I'm sure there's been some studies regarding that.
  11. First, this is a new helmet so it doesn't have a reputation, which it needs because it isn't a mandatory helmet. Players have options and they usually stick with what they are familiar with. The league has done a lot of studies on helmets and has been in the process of forcing upgrades in design and prohibiting ones that aren't deemed safe by the constantly changing standards. This company is planning on designing helmets specific for different positions based on the situations each finds themselves in and the types of hits they are likely to encounter. Apparently the next one is for WRs and CBs to help with the full speed impacts they face, contrasted with the QB helmets that are designed to absorb impacts from giant linemen. Tldr: not everyone is going to wear them because they have a choice, it's new, and it's not designed for everyone.
  12. “This past year we had an increase in the number of quarterback concussions, and it was the same helmet-to-ground dynamic. Many people would say it’s because quarterbacks are scrambling more often, but we didn’t see that. It was still the quarterback in the pocket, getting hit and the head hitting the ground as they were holding onto the ball.” Looks like the timing is right for getting a QB that everyone is worried about getting his little head bounced around.
  13. Defensive minded HC. Anderson might just be too hard to pass up. But yeah, I would be surprised to see it. Kind of the most crucial piece for a new HC. But maybe they're thinking that they can get both their cornerstone for the defense in Will Anderson and then come back and get their franchise QB with either the #12 or their 2nd rounder. If they are more sold on Anderson than they are the QBs they think will be available at #2 and think that the QB they could draft at #12 or #32 would still be able to carri the franchise, then that makes sense. They've got the picks, they've got the luxury of options.
  14. I've thought this all along, though I thought it was more likely when it looked like Saturday was going to remain the coach.
  15. i was thinking before the trade about all the ways they could be building up a real arsenal of picks, but i'm glad they didn't.
  16. they finally figured out how to use him and now they will be giving him weapons and, i assume, an OL.
  17. that's why this whole debate is so funny to me. there's very little space overall between these two as to who would be the best short and long term. seriously, overall it's a flip of the coin. So why not just close your eyes, breathe, and flip the coin and know that you're still going to be the best off that you've been in quite a few years. enjoy the ride.
  18. and either one can be a stud with this coaching staff and OL. i really don' think we can go wrong with either one. crap, i think we could even make it work with AR....but i feel much better about either CJ or BY.
