  1. I want nothing to do with Mike McCoy. Also do not want gus Bradley.
  2. i'm totally fine with this hire. no excited yet, but i will be. finally we've got an offensive HC. been a long time coming.
  3. agreed with this. it's a nice thought, but there would be too many issues involved. wilks won't take a back seat here nor should he and if he did, there would likely be a bit of resentment and behind the back talking among the team. and if reich were to take a back seat, wilks could never get comfortable because that's pretty much the situation we were in when wilks came in. wilks has played that game before, just on the other side of the equation. it just would have too much static involved either way.
  4. his "failures" in indy were still better than most of the seasons in our franchise's history. it wasn't until the owner started meddling in an effort to give him a chance to hire his buddy the HC job that reich started actually losing. if reich was handicapped at all in indy, it was by irsay.
  5. Frank Reich may spurn Chargers for mediocre head coaching job this might be a bit biased of a writeup from a chargers fan page. Frank Reich might be better off being the offensive coordinator of the LA Chargers.
  6. i think any of the people we've got lined up for 2nd interviews are an upgrade over the past couple HCs. get wilks teamed up with a good OC and he's definitely better than rivera. i see wilks as the floor for this group of prospects and by that i mean no disrespect because i think he's still a few notches above rhule for sure and i think with him we're competitive. keeln moore is a wildcard for me. i really don't know what to expect. i mean he doesn't look like he's even old enough to shave, but he's got a lot of experience as OC...more than most of the other guys we were looking at, but just how easy would it be for the rest of the team to line up behind him willingly? wilks has the players. reich would win them over easily. i just kind of like the idea of having a guy that doesn't need a learning curve as a HC and if that guy is an offensive guy with a good bit of success, especially in less than ideal situations, then bring him in.
  7. thanks for this write up. i'll just say that if we hire reich, i won't be disappointed.
  8. true. and it's really been a mixed bag from what i'm seeing some have levis going to the colts early ahead of stroud or young and some have levis the 4th or 5th QB behind richardson and some other QB (saw him behind cameron ward on yahoo).
  9. I think the raiders get Brady or some other vet. probably brady, though. and i think that atlanta is more likely to go after a vet and give ridder some time to learn. they've got too many issues on defense they need to address to take a QB that early. i just don't see it being the hot priority from them that it is for us. my thinking is connected to another post in this thread where i think that seattle and detroit stick with the guys that started for them this year and vegs and atlanta and a few other teams go after vets. there's going to be a lot of holes and a lot of FA QBs getting shuffled around to fill those holes.
  10. the thing is colts might get excited about levis and overestimate his appeal to other teams. it's quite possible that one of young or stroud makes it to us. but i also think that even if anthony richardson is our pick, that if we've got someone like steichen or kafka that they would be great in helping him get to the pro level.
  11. i think you're right about that list. most likely teams to trade up with chicago are already in front of us so it won't really affect us one way or another. i don't see chicago, zona, seattle, detroit, vegas, or atlanta going QB so that leaves just houston and indy. i think tampa would likely go with a vet and for some reason i also keep seeing them take tanner mckee from stanford (i see it myself, i don't see them mocking him to them). or maybe hendon hooker. anyways, i'm not really worried about them jumping ahead of us. i think the titans will also go the vet route. we could still very well get a good QB at 9, but i think that whoever we get for HC is going to be the big difference maker. fortunately we have some good prospects for developing a QB. if we go with wilks...i think we're going to be handicapped in our ability to develop one.
  12. My guess... Brady-raiders Mac Jones- pats with O'Brien as his OC Daniel Jones- giants Rodgers-titans Jackson-ravens (tagged) Tannehill- falcons Lance- vikings (as a backup up to start '23 and then replacing cousins) Garrapolo- jets Bridgewater - saints (again) Carr- bucs Baker- dolphins Geno- seahawks Darnold- panthers (backup/bridge QB) Minshew- commanders
  13. Looks like that's what we want to do with prospective new offensive minded coaches...choose their DC for them. it shouldn't be a problem for Wilks anymore than it would be for those other guys to have coordinators chosen for them. after rhule insisting on his college crew come with him, i think that we have more than enough reason to be skeptical and even a bit controlling of an HC wanting his own crew. Get the best coordinators possible, not necessarily the ones that the HC feels most comfortable with.
  14. i have wanted an offensive minded coach since 2007 when i started wanting Fox gone. i was kind of conflicted in regards to wilks because i really like him and i love that the players love him. but, like you said, they blew some games that would have helped secure wilks a full time job. it sucks for wilks because i think he's a good coach, but he got dealt a crappy hand here and in AZ. the biggest thing working against him is that he's a defensive minded coach in a league trending towards the offense. the players love him, but that wasn't enough to win crucial games. he just didn't pull the best out of them.
  15. Can't imagine Prescott will finish his career in Dallas. Of course it is Dallas where they always choke and then keep complaining about the QB and coaching staff but never do anything about it.
  16. After how many years of a losing record? Yeah I would be. Bar is set low.
  17. I think y'all are stressing over nothing because he's not coming here. It just won't happen. Tepper is probably blinded by the shiny and he'll throw his heart and everything out there to get him, but it will either be too late or he'll just go with someone he really wants to be with. Tepper and the Panthers just won't be what he's looking for and if Tepper gets too eager, I've got to think that Fitt or someone reels him back in and keeps him from selling the farm for him.
  18. not what i would want, but 1) it's a big need (one of many) and 2) i can see it happening. definitely in the realm of probably gonna happen.
  19. if it's a very late first rounder, i'm not going to cry. just the fact that we were good enough to warrant a late first rounder would make it worth it, imo. if we're still picking in the top 10...then we got issues.
  20. the only thing that i wouldn't like is having to trade picks to get him i don't want us trading picks for a player. i definitely wouldn't want us having to trade picks to get a coach, but i'll get over it.
  21. i don't like him, but i don't have to like him. he was a good coach in new orleans and he always gave us a hard time. i was happy he left there. i really believe that he'd be successful here and that's all that matters. if we can win a ring with him and brady...bring them both in. one added bonus to hiring payton and winning would be that the saints fans would hate it. that in itself would be enough.
