this team actually deserves this fan base. they've earned it, rather they've won this fan base. it's about all they've won. if they they can do something positive, like win...they might have a more positive fan base. they keep making crappy decisions, they are going to have crappy fans. winning cures all.

haha gotcha. new month will bring more bad decisions to complain about. i would love to be surprised and them make good decisions. i would love to be wrong and they figure poo out. i would love for them to start winning and me forced to eat crow. i just don't see that happening.

You shouldn't make yourself miserable by coming here then.

Why, is rule getting replaced with a coach that knows what he's doing and we'll magically have a QB that isn't straight up garbage and the OL gets fixed and we get more draft picks?

Matt Rhule watching tight ends at the combine

honestly, this is where i am. better choices next year. it's a desperation pick and we will be settling for lesser talent. it's just not a good year to be doing it. fix the OL and get it gelling so that the new QB can come in and not have to worry about all the other parts around him.
-
That's why the idea of him sitting behind/with Cam for a year isn't a bad one. I mean I wouldn't expect Cam to stay healthy for a whole year, but he could still teach Willis alot. I think we've done worse than him as far as starters go if we did end up starting him, though. He's got a lot of potential and he'd be fun to watch. I just think they'll be better options next year, but I wouldn't hate the pick.
-
I think that this is the year that he and Rhule both have to make things happen or they'll both find themselves looking for another job. Year three is a crucial "prove it" year for coaches. (Actually in it is for players too) Rivera is ahead of Rhule, but he's also got a poo ton more experience so he should be.
-
Moving on from him was the right idea. We just picked the wrong guy.
-
So I guess the rumors I heard that they inquired about Rodgers were true. Hmmm..
-
Yep. Not a good class outside of those two. Still could end up being a better class than the one this year. What's funny is he had Darnold barely above Rosen and the difference being Rosen had an injury history. Didn't sound like he was really be crazy about either one.
-
Willis is the only QB I'm interested in this year and if we can fix the OL through FA I wouldn't hate it. First priority has to be OL. If we're bound and determined to get a QB in the draft, I'd rather it be him than anyone. But I'd rather concentrate all energies on the OL and get a QB to take us through this year then draft a QB next year from a much better class.

He's Joe burrow ultra lite.

I just don't count on Rhule making good enough decisions or puting his fate in someone else's hands. Hell find some way to screw it up. Or maybe Tepper will have set such a high bar for this year that even if we win a few more that Rhule won't be able to meet and things are set up well for the next guy and he drafts the stud QB we need. Or Rhule gets his head out of his ass and the team does really well and we're stuck eating at crow. If that happens, I'll supply the bbq sauce. Things have to get better sometime, right?
-
It's a concern. Not a chief concern, but it is just one of a good few that I'm not crazy about the idea of that pick. And I do think it's a bigger deal than Brady having short arms and quite a bit hypocritical of Rhule if he drafts Pickett for the most important job on the team in spite of that after having made such a big deal about Brady.
-
Small hands on a bigger ball is a bigger deal, especially for a guy that's going to have his hands on the ball every play....playing behind thus OL. Oye.
-
I said legit starters might give us a chance, not a legit chance. Just a chance. If they can keep darnold from freaking out and if he doesn't lose his security blanket (CMC) then he might be more of what we saw the first few weeks. I don't want to take that risk, though.

Well...there was Minshew in Jacksonville.

What does James Campen look for in an offensive lineman?
rayzor replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Campen better be teaching this to noob Rhule and Rhule better be listening. -
It should be all OL. If we can get 3 LEGIT starters out of this draft we might have a chance at not sucking. But I agree, Rule doesn't have the luxury of developing a young QB (not that he's capable of it anyway) and he also can't risk drafting a QB and hoping he's ready to go out of the gate. So QB probably won't be the pick at 6. All that to say.... Our first pick will probably be another corner.
-
OL helps the QB out. Then get a better OL....and a better QB.
-
Same here. They can say all the right things, but evidence on the field shows they are inept. Show me you're not inept on the field and ill believe it, but until then it's all just talk. And even then, at this stage they're all just playing a game and shouldn't be believed. Basically there's nothing you can accurately glean from this or anything they say.

He's an optimism buzz killer. Any hope you have of something positive happening that's good for the team, once you remember that rule is calling the shots it all falls apart.

Jeremiah: Panthers "dead set" on drafting an offensive lineman
rayzor replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Was he worth a first round? Considering how good he was and how long he played, was he worth a first round pick?
