note that the entry states: "The earliest known transcription of the word 'fap' online".  The word itself as a synonym for spanking has clearly been around much longer.

 

While the version we are talking about comes from Japanese pop culture, it has roots in English as a synonym for 'drunk' which are right now.  Could you, perchance, be fap fapping?  :D
