Charlotte...Not a football city?

Recommended Posts

A Charlotte resident who also played in 185 consecutive games, has a nice bust in the Hall of Fame, and has been involved in with the NFL for what...almost 40 years now. I am pretty sure he is more qualified to know what a football city is than most.

Good for him, so how does he explain 100+ consecutive sell out games in a non-football city?

It's also important to keep in mind that we wouldn't have a team or a stadium if folks in this non-football city were not willing to plunk down money for PSL's. Did the residents of Cleveland and Buffalo have to make a significant direct investment to get a team?

That's debatable.

At least you were one of the Ohioites smart enough to get out of that Godforsaken place. Kudos to you for doing it before Lebron made it cool.

Raised on Dean Smith and Bobby Knight as the best coaches of all time. Intelligence and discipline. Both were and are kings. ACC and Big Ten. Good battles, and they continue year in and year out.

I'm a football man. Can't debate the bball. I'll concede that. Lebron can take his talents wherever the $ flows, or to a college of higher institution where they make up classes and provide passing grades to the athletes that attend those made up classes to ensure their team gets bounced in the early rounds of the NCAA tourney each year. I really couldn't care less.

Sure does sound like you care.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
