We didn't do Cam any favors, and if this is it we're gonna have some problems

You don't really believe that statement, do you? We're talking about Byron Bell and a converted DT who played mostly guard last season.

Also, what's our depth look like? What happens if one of them gets injured?

I know two things for fact.

1) There wasn't a tackle available that Gettleman and Company felt was worth the pick. Which translatws to not over the guys we have.

2) I agree with them.

On no, injuries being brought up to support your weak argument. Lol

Are you seriously against having back ups in case of injury?  Or do you think we could just convert one of the 5 DE to LT in that situation lol.

Is quality depth not a legitimate concern anymore? I remember somebody once preaching about strengthening the bottom of our roster...oh wait, that was Dave Gettleman. Bell and Chandler should be back ups, not starters.

Are you so sure Gettleman actually believes that? What else is he gonna say, "Yeah there were guys there who could help us, but I passed because coach and I are defense obsessed." You think none of our scouts or anybody thought any OTs past the first round could help us? How naive. Gettleman himself lauded the depth of OT talent in this draft pre-draft. Smokescreen, though, right? But hey, they're right about everything, even Fua huh? Kugbila? Barner?

I can understand the hate for bell. He was average at RT. Nothing special.

I don't understand the hate for Chandler. All he has done since switching from defensive tackle to OL is shone like a bright star.

He was graded perfect at LT during the preseason.

And played above average at guard, a position he never even practiced. He was thrown in due to injury, and stepped up.

We have tons of depth, but cause they aren't overrated draft picks, your concerned. Lol

I've got high hopes for Chandler, but he could just as easily be hot trash as anything else. Having bodies is way different than having quality depth.

in your mind, our GM and coach is more satisfied with bodies, than quality talent.

Well, you better phone Mr Richardson and let him know thrir staff doesn't know what the fug they are doing!!!!

For about the one thousandth time, have you really and truly convinced yourself that the GM of a professional football team will enter a season with no useable depth at the offensive tackle position?

Do you really believe that?

Fua was Hurney's pick and should serve as a glaring example to everyone what reaching for need gets you.

you do realize that it is possible to fill every position on the roster with draft picks, right?

Draft picks are used to add quality players to a roster.

Depth, while some may come from draft picks, the majority come from UDFA, and signing cheap free agents that fans have never heard of.

I understand your point of view. It's one of a newer fan, that doesn't know all that they preach.

I certainly don't know everything, but I know I understand more than you do. You'll continue to learn also. It's a never ending learning process.

Did we have the ideal circumstance to upgraee our tackle position?

Nope. But the team will eeal with it, and we will move on.

It's also my opinion that the Panthers have one of the best OL coach in the league.

I know he can coach up our guys well enough that our team will compete and win more often than not.
