We're not even that far along yet. We're only talking about OTAs.

Newton did not look good in OTAs (or even preseason).

Yeah I'm just here for the lulz and the Manziel hate. Any actual facts will be forgotten but i know you mean well.

A lot of Cam's issues have to do with the fans, not Cam himself.

You mean a fanbase would be way more critical of it's players than an outsider? Say it ain't so

I actually think Manziel will be a bust.

I just don't buy the notion that such a judgment can be credibly made this early in the process.

Meh. I'll say the same for him that I said for Cam, Luck, etc... If they have an awesome season great, but if you approach the situation fairly, all you can really expect from a rookie QB is somewhat consistant flashes of brilliance.

There was a pretty extensive discussion - and defense - of Geno Smith prior to last year's draft. I'm a fan of his because I'm a big WVU homer. Sadly, he had the misfortune of going to the Jets, so who knows what'll happen there? I hope he succeeds, but that team is a dumpster fire.

RG3 has defenders on here too, though not as many. The general consensus is that he's a track guy playing football. Most believe his body won't take the pounding and he'll be out of the game after a relatively short career.

On the flipside, I'm not a fan of Manziel at all. I just know enough about football to be smarter than to make long term judgments based on a couple of days minicamp when a guy is a rookie.

lol Nope. Manziel's known to be really competitive. It's not that he won't be competitive if they don't say anything, but I think it's fine to give him a little extra motivation. I think the huddle's really overreacting to what this GM has said. I think it's fine what he said.

What I love is that the people who want to whine about how much attention other quarterbacks get are just about always the ones who start threads about them on here. And then they complain when people talk.

It's pretty goofy :lol:

      I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.

      This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
