Straight up: Who are you sold on at #9?

Stauskas makes a lot of sense for us. Good scorer and would mesh well with what's going on.

I like McDermott but just not for us. Can't see taking him after taking Zeller last year. Not b/c I'm comparing them but more-so how'd they would fit on the team together from an in-game standpoint. He's not a guy that's a starting 3.

I'm thinking it's Garry Harris or Nick Stauskas unless we move/trade/etc.

I just think it'd be great to have a solid backcourt in place.

I'm not a big McDermott fan, I'm just basing it off of what I've read.

Makes me wish Detroit had landed a top 8 pick.

I was one of the few that was hoping that Detroit would have kept the pick because I feel like the talent level from 9 to 20 is pretty much the same.

You have your four potential impact players in Wiggins, Parker, Exum, and Smart, then you have your players picked on potential in Embiid, Vonleh, Ranlde, Gordon, then you have a bunch of decent prospects that may produce some good players or it may not.

I preferred to get the pick next year because unless Detroit gets rid of Josh Smith they will be just as bad they were last year.

If we're looking at taking who we are being projected to pick in most of these mocks - an unathletic, college all-star - then, I would be perfectly fine with trading back...

We need offense and athleticism, above all else, and there are guys that provide that in the teens-late first better than the crap sitting at 9 that are forced picks because of name recognition.

Trade back and get Hairston and an athletic swingman, backup PF to Zeller (as I don't think McBob will be brought back), or a big combo guard to provide us some versatility with looks...  That draft is a BIG WIN for me.

I agree, but I think the team is better next season with McRoberts back. A 3-year deal for McRoberts would be ideal, with the hope that by the second half of the season Zeller is ready to take over, or at least by the beginning of '15-16. If Zeller's ceiling is really higher, you assume he'll eventually beat out McRoberts, and three years is enough time for him to prove that. If he didn't, it wouldn't be because McRoberts was here.

I'm liking the idea of Lavine at 9 and a vet signing in FA.

I like that, but he just scares me. We usually suck at picking and developing our projects.

The more I look at PJ Hairston, the more I see him fitting with us perfectly. Trade back and nab him.
