Graham ruled a tight end

Recommended Posts

He called himself a TE because the team wanted him too.  If he didn't do that, he would be called a "bad teammate" by everyone else and the fans lol.  He probably expected to be paid fairly for what he brings to the team.

So basically you are saying it's OK for a team to play a player at another position, other than what they list him as, but then franchise tag him for 2 years so it's cheaper?  Does this seem moral?   Where does it end?  What about other positions?  What if other teams start doing this as well?   I know athletes make crazy money, but he deserves to get paid for his production like others do.

He'll appeal and possibly win it on an appeal. And if he doesn't he'll certainly holdout and cause the Aints a lot of headaches. I love the situation either way because they don't have the cap room to pay him any more than the TE tag. Idiots.

Lol the Saints "brilliant" offseason FA signings the media/experts loved won't look so good when he holds out bc of their poo planning

You realize the team is way more rich than the player right?

Once again, it doesn't matter what MY or YOU opinion is, the rules say he should be paid lol. Why is this hard?

Would he have led the league with 16 TD's if he never lined up as a WR?

Would he have led the league in TDs if he lined up out wide, where he would have been covered by #1 and #2 corners instead of linebackers, safeties and nickel backs? I mean, I love Graham. He's a match up nightmare, but that's because he plays the TE position. I have no problem with him trying to get more money. It's not mine lol. All I'm saying is, somebody neutral looked at it and deemed him a TE.

So when he gets the richest deal for a TE ever, he won't be getting paid fairly? Is Gronk underpaid? I mean he brings the same receiving ability to the Pats that Graham brings to the Saints but he blocks as well. The reason Grahams percentages were so high is because he's taken out on plays that his position requires him to block on. Ben Watson is brought in for that role.

I understand plenty here want the Saints to have to spend more money, but try to be logical.

I hate Graham worse than I want the Saints to pay more, honestly and I still see it unfair.

Yeah Gronk is probably underpaid.

Jimmy and Gronk should make what WRs in the same line of production make.   They need to revamp rules for the TE position honestly.

Simply another cry baby player that is only thinking about the $$$. So sad. OMG im only getting $7mil this season. I want more. Boo frigging whoo. You were drafted a damn TE. Guess frigging what  your going to be paid as a damn TE. Suck it and drive on. You get paid millions of dollars to play a game for a living.. a frigging game. almost every other person in the wolrd lives on less than a 1/10th of what your single season salary is. STFU and play the game!

So anyone drafted at a position, even though they are moved to another, should always get paid as the first position, the one they played in college?

Of course athletes make a lot, but compared to what others get paid in the league with similar production (across all position) yeah, he should get more.  Isn't that fair?  Jimmy should take less than others that produce the same, because people are more poor?  You wouldn't only be thinking about the $ either?  When you could get hurt on your one year franchise tender and never get your payday?  Of course you would.   You wouldn't try to get that $5 mill?  Seems like a lot to me.  Those people making 1/10 would definitely go for that $5 mill haha.

By your logic I shouldn't make what I do because it's way more than the average American. So if you're making more than $51,017 you better return the rest of that to your employer

Didn't he NOT sign his franchise tag for this purpose? So if he doesn't sign by July 15th, he'll not have a contract. So if he appeals, he'll have to sign something. Or just let things go and play. And deal next season... No?

As a Panther fan, how much would you be ok with the Panthers giving Jimmy Graham? How much should he make?
