We keep hearing Cho might rather make a trade....

For a hail mary, I'd say Klay Thompson. He's been talked about in trades and we need three point shooting. But I really have no idea for legitimate guys. Demar Derozan is probably the right kind of player. Above average, not great, with some potential to get better and a contract that's a bit too high.

Eric Gordon,

They better send a draft pick and take Hendo. His contract is atrocious.

Also, Waiters from Cleveland could be a possible fit, would probably cost a bunch though.  Probably Zeller and a 1st rounder... that might not even do it.

Well all I know is this better not be it. We need to show Al that we are committed to building around him.

At this point that Hayward offer just seems like a "hey at least we tried to bring a big name in" type of thing.

Hornets- Klay Thompson, Kevin Martin

Warriors- Kevin Love, Corey Brewer, Ronny Turiaf

T-Wolves- Harrison Barnes, David Lee, Gerald Henderson, Cody Zeller, 3 1st rd picks (2 GS, 1 CHA)

I don't think the Warriors do this type of deal without getting Klay.

Don't get me wrong, I would love it, but just don't see it.

I could see flipping Barnes and Klay and maybe removing Hendo from the deal, and it might would work.

The problem is in these three team trades guys that are enticing to us are also enticing to a team like Minnesota.

i.e. Waiters, Thompson etc...

Barnes might be available though.

The real problem...

Minnesota is acting like Love is Michael Jordan & asking for way too damn much.

Cleveland is only offering scrubs & won't include the one piece needed to get him (Wiggins).

Golden State isn't willing to part with the one guy Minnesota wants (Thompson) & is only offering average players.

Hopefully someone caves and we can help them out, while still getting a quality player in the process.

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
