Jake gets boos at fan fest

The negativity on this site needs to chill a bit. I quit coming here for a while b/c people would bash every little thing. Especially coming on here during a game in the "game thread" section. We would have one bad possession and 90% of the people would give up on the game and for that the entire season saying, "hear we go again." I have renewed optimism this year that this site will not be so negative. Anyway, wishful thinking!

It's not that big of a deal. I probably would never boo any player for their on-the-field actions during introductions or for God's sake a practice but to each his own.

There is no "right side" of this argument. Each fan is left to himself to deal with their own emotions. If tough love is the perceived regimen of participation, so be it. If "everybody gets to bat AND deserves a trophy" is your thing, then fine.

But don't anybody try to prove they are right on a message board. What is right is what each one feels individually is right.

Some people think resource-consuming and frustrating diplomacy is a waste of time and favor bombing the poo out of stuff until you stop getting the run-around.

Some people believe that corporal punishment is still an effective method of rearing children as opposed to putting them all on drugs and immersing them into therapy.

you cannot win either of those arguments as both sides BELIEVE passionately that they are correct.

the point is that you cannot win a "boo vs. support" argument in professional sports. You either accept that everyone does not feel the warm and fuzzy or the complete disdain that you do or you douse them with your expensive stadium beverage.

Easy.

I do.

So its all for the kids? Seems like the NFL would fold pretty damn quick if it was "all for the kids"

I know your opinion on Jake and I also know that no matter what he does it will not change. I am not insulting or judging you for your opinion. My opinion is not worth any more than yours.

I think the booing at fanfest was the way for alot of people (especially those who were not at the game last year) to voice their opinion about that game.

The booing had nothing to do with his play Saturday. It had nothing to do with the pass.

This is a new season. We have a ton of talent, and should contend for the NFC South and even the NFC. To start it off with a barage of boos during a practice session was pretty classless to me.

I respect everyone's opinion to cheer or boo, but it does make our fanbase look immature and juevenile.

Who were we discussing? Way to make him a matyr...welcome to the club the jock sniffing section is over there

So you insist that I must be placed in the BDJS box just cause I don't have a a desire to boo for our starting QB at practice when he throws the ball away?

You color your posts here on the Huddle in the vein of a hater...ok, I am a glass half full mentality so I must surely be BDJS.

:hat:

Well put!!! I am not against booing, but there is a time and a place.

i just love how all the people who despise the Panther fans who are not enamored with Jake as the starter LOVE to repeat over and over how "Jake is the starter and will be so for some time"...as if anyone was unaware of that.

That always seems to be used as the nuke in every little discussion.

    • Fowler: Bucs 23, Panthers 16. Baker Mayfield only won a single game when he was an unimpressive Carolina starter, but somehow he’s 5-0 when playing AGAINST the Panthers. For the Panthers to pull off this upset, they’ll need to score at least in the mid-20s. With Tampa Bay relatively healthy following a mini-bye (and Mike Evans’ return is huge), it feels like this will be too tough a task. Kaye: Bucs 24, Panthers 20. The win-loss-win-loss streak comes to an end. It’s hard to trust the play-calling following the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers know what’s on the line, but they also knew last week, too. It’ll be close; I just have trouble trusting a positive outcome after a defeating one on the road. Zietlow: Panthers 38, Bucs 35. This prediction goes against conventional wisdom, but then again, conventional wisdom doesn’t seem to apply to these Panthers. This group, after all, has yet to lose back-to-back contests since Weeks 1 and 2. I think they win this one to make Week 18 interesting — and yes, that’s even with motivated Baker Mayfield and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in good form. Why not?
    • Sam developed into a different player after he mostly sat for a year and learned a ton by being in that QB room under Shannahan in San Francisco.  Then he went to the Vikings who have a poo load of talent and another genius level offensive mind at HC in Kevin O Connel. I think they genuinely built up his confidence in a way he never did in New York or Charlotte.  He would not have been the same player if he stayed here IMO. Especially if he had been involved in that disaster season with Frank Reich in 2023, that might have cooked his confidence for good.  I guess you could argue we wouldn't have been that bad if we also kept cmc and dj i guess.
    • Willis was impressive last night given the circumstances. GB and SF seem to just have it figured out as far as QB goes.   It's frustrating, but I enjoy seeing our old players find success elsewhere.
