A few notes from the BR presser:

 

Sturridge will be assessed. If he is declared fit, he may find a place on the bench as an emergency sub.

 

Suso contract talks ongoing (better come to an agreement)

 

Coutinho has returned to training from "injury"

 

BR not worried about Sterling's fitness levels after playing 120 mins on Tuesday.

 

In my opinion, BR better watch how he treats Sterling. You can run a player into the ground early on in their career by doing this to him. I know he recently got a break, but he needs to be careful.

I completely agree on your sentiments about how much we're asking of Sterling, but at the same time we have to play him. He's easily been our best player so far this year

 

Agreed. He has been one of like three bright spots on this squad thus far. I just think going forward he will need to be given some time to rest. Once we have a completely healthy squad of course.

DERBY TIME!!!

 

Yes folks, time for us to put up or shut up. Can't start slow again, can't make the stupid mental errors we've made the past few weeks. Have to come out on fire and keep the pressure on the whole game, the whole pitch, the whole way through. Time for us to establish our identity and shellac some Gooners tomorrow!

      Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .

      Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.

      Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
