2014/15 Barclays Premier League Season

Even Brendan's stubborn ass won't be able to deny it any longer.

it's unbelievable how much quicker and fluid we look in the midfield tonight, we look like a different team.  and i look at this starting lineup... there's a certain player that's a regular starter who's missing tonight.  and just happens to play in the midfield, hmmmm......

He had some good chances. I think if he had played 25 minutes, he'd have nicked one. Rodgers won't sell him until he's had a chance with Sturridge in the team.

came very close to scoring a few times at utd too.  he's working himself into better position and seems to be learning the system.  honestly rumors sterling could be suspended.  wouldn't be a bad thing, raheem could definitely use the rest and it would give mario a chance to prove himself playing in that ST role.  plus we play leceister and sunderland, we should be able to win those without raheem

Yea, I can see Sterling suspended. That was completely unnecessary from him. He has a shite temper. Needs to grow up.

Also- Skrtel booked today means he'll miss Leicester as well. Going to see a new defensive pairing.

toure would be fine.  leave can and sakho, they were both excellent today.  the future of this club, same with moreno.  man he has pace.

Can looked so calm on the ball today. Not rattled in the slightest. Even moved the ball forward really well, much the way Agger used to.

And he's only 20!

not even playing in his normal position either lol, some of these young guys are really turning the corner... wonder what reason rodgers will give when stevie g just waltzes back into the lineup.  best henderson has looked all year today, and it was without stevie.  i love stevie and i won't even say he's a liability or anything, but he's not making us any better.  but i'll give credit where credit is due, and rodgers deserves a lot of credit right now.  team has clearly improved and it's because he found a formation that matches his personnel.  only 5 points off of top 4, and rodgers teams are always better the second half.  COME ON YOU REDS!!!!

    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
    • Nobody is saying they don't count against the cap, because yes, they technically do count against the cap as it's money the team is paying and it needs to be accounted for. But what you're not grasping it seems is that if a player gets $10 million guaranteed in their contract, whether they get literally $0 as a signing bonus or $8 million as a signing bonus, it doesn't change the overall cap hit of the contract, because cap hits are about the guaranteed money, not how much is paid up front. The only thing that how much is paid up front changes, is how the cap hit can be spread out amongst the years. So yes, technically there could end up being a slightly bigger cap hit in year 3 and 4 due to a bigger signing bonus, but if that is the case, it also means there will be a lesser cap hit in years 1 and 2 than there would have been with a smaller bonus.  But over the length of the contract, the size of the signing bonus has literally zero affect on the overall cap hit of the contract, because THAT part of it is 100% about the guaranteed money and nothing else.
