Panthers Madden 15 Ratings

2nd in division to Saints, madden thinks we went 13-3 as well. Also, Newton is an 89, luck is an 88 and wilson is an 93. The one that really got me fired up is Kuechly being a 94 overall (3rd best MIDDLE linebacker) behind both 49ers. Not only a DPOY last year but ROY 2 years ago. No love. Kelvin Benj is a 71 overall, which is also fugged up considering Armanti was a 71 his rookie season. Then again, the Madden ratings "czar" is a bucs fan, which would explain their way to high rating.

CAROLINA PANTHERS
Despite the 13-3 record and NFC South title, there are still some questions surrounding this Panthers offense. Cam Newton continues to progress, but enters 2014 without his favorite wideout target in Steve Smith. Tight end Greg Olsen is coming off a career year that saw him catch a team-high 73 passes, earning himself a top-five tight end rating in the process. The Panthers will continue to rely on a proficient ground game featuring DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Mike Tolbert, and, of course, Newton.

Defense is where the Panthers' bread is buttered, and it starts up front with Greg Hardy (92 OVR, 15 sacks), Charles Johnson (88), and Star Lotulelei (88). Carolina's linebackers are among the best in football, with reigning Defensive Player of the Year Luke Kuechly (94 OVR) and Thomas Davis (89) leading the way.

I could see it both ways for Benji as a 71...he hasn't played a down in the NFL so you can't really make an argument for it to be higher. However, he was a first round draft pick so he should at least get a 75 or so to begin with.

Either way as someone mentioned, the ratings will get adjusted with an update as time goes on so let's hope Benji proves Madden wrong and is a 80+ by the end of the season.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
