Cam Tries To Clarify Chud Comments

Gantt is stirring the pot.  He has gone from a journalist with integrity to a PFT/TMZ clown.  I agree with Hatter, who cares?  I don't read the threads on here that are something like "Cam gets a new haircut; doesn't trust cheese in a can."

Cam is doing the right stuff, and Chud's system was probably complex. But those of you who were blasting some of us for questioning Cam's maturity then---what the hell does this tell you about the difference between 2011 Cam and 2014 Cam?

I have gone from a Cam skeptic to a huge Cam supporter.  It would not have happened had he not grown up.

People were doing more than questioning his maturity, much of it was plain idiocy. Some people even considered trading him last year.

His comments about Chud to me were him trying to emphasize how much of an adjustment it was for him, and the difficulty in the process. I didn't get that he meant he was not willing to learn, I guess he could have worded it differently to get his point across, but I understood it.

When I heard Cam say it, i was like "Uh oh. This is probably gonna be a problem."  But I knew what he meant all along.  It wasn't a slam on Chud, it was more about Cam discussing the culture shock and him needing to up his level of understanding.

The Manziel issue has nothing to do with this topic but since it's been brought up. All of the media admits Manziel is immature but they don't go negative with it. They glorify his missteps as being a fun loving playboy. I just don't see the same vitriol with Manziel. It's almost like "boys will be boys".

You must get your Manziel news from the Browns website because the much of the media has been very critical of his football skills and his character.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
