Watching the Colts Eagles game

Luck starring down his receivers like crazy. He looks at first option if not open he looks to dump of to RB.

To be fair, the defender did that receiver like crazy. But yeah, everything that people say Cam does bad, I have seen Luck do numerous times, but they don't call him out on it.

I don't think we're on the same page here. Just because I say that Cam needs to work on sailing passes high, that does not in any way imply that I think other QBs don't sail passes, or otherwise make errant throws. I didn't say anything like that. You're making an argument with me based on things said by other posters. I didn't say any of these things.

Well, if that's the case then it doesn't need to be said, cause all QB's sail or make bad passes. It's part of the game.

The only time it's an issue, is when a receiver is wide open, and/or the QB's has time or little pressure, and still misses the receiver bad.

Of course some of us Panther fans are sensitive to this. Because many fans and non fans try to use this against Cam, when we see bad, average and good NFL QB's do the same thing every week. It's part of the game. But I got you.

Try this.  Put on MNF and when Gruden starts to speak, close your eyes and imagine he's your rambling drunk friend.

I'm convinced he's reliant on alcohol to do his job.

Gruden is absolutely shameless with his nut hugging.  I really hope Luck throws another blatant INT on this drive just so we can see who Gruden will blame it on.  It sure as hell won't be Luck.

Ugh, 2012 was so ugly. I think there were five leads that our defense blew. Never forget. Thank goodness our defense grew up and got sick of losing.

As great as Cam is and as overrated as Luck is, there are some things I wish Cam possessed from Luck's game but I can't complain because Cam does some outrageous things himself.

When matching their stats, it's clear that there is no gap between the two and that they're very similar. I genuinely respect Luck. He's got an OL just as bad as ours yet he still finds a way to make a play happen.

Yeah, I was never one of those Panther fans that knocked Luck (though I would point out the disparity in their coverage by media types).

Like you; I felt they were both in similar situations (minus Luck's defense holding leads).

And I agree with you regarding Cam, and was thinking the same thing (that he should have about 10 game winning or 4th qtr drives himself).

I'm a fan of Cam Newton. I'm thrilled to have him as our QB. He's the best thing that ever happened to the Carolina Panthers. All QBs are a work in progress, and they constantly work to eliminate mistakes and improve their game.

I don't like it when Cam takes more blame than is due. He's a very good QB, and he'll be with us for the rest of his career imo, and bring us a SB.

    • When you analyze what Tulsky has done the only positive was getting Ehlers, he blew the Gentzel signing, whiffed on Rantanan, signed Miller who is a terrible fit, never addressed the goalie problem, signing a declining Freddie instead, and wasted a ton of cap space this year with inaction. My verdict is he might be great at analytics but sucks as a general manager.
    • If you think the refs we have are bad, you probably don't remember just how bad it got the last time they used replacement refs... including an incident of a Packers fan ref massively influencing a game. The NFL, when you consider all the other things tied to it like TV rights, betting, stadiums (construction, ticket prices, heck even parking and concessions), plus merchandizing, is probably a trillion dollar industry. Give the refs what they want, pay them and let's get back to having games.
    • Probably.  You never know.  It always amazes me to think how many times they miss on first rounders (about 50%) and the number of misses increases every round.  Then there are UDFAs that make the team every year.  I guess we are always looking for the next gem--but most never make it.  Funny, I was at dinner last night and there was this big guy with a WCU shirt on.  I recognized him--that OT from Western that we gave a tryout last year or the year before--Smith.  He explained his experience--just wanted to see how he could hold up against the big boys.  He played a preseason game and was terrible, fwiw.
